Finally got rid of the ibrick3.:bigok: What a sigh of relief!:yahoo:
iOS is literally a jail-house.:annoyed:

There's nothing spectacular in this ibrick3 & if someones hell bent on getting one, buy an ibrick2 WiFi only because 3G is useless without calling facility. Tether it with phone & use.;)

It will not come with calling facility.

There it goes!:O

Some time back I had a chat with an Apple CC exec. he said that Apple is working on iPad call feature & they have to come out with one to counter the competition, mainly from Samsung. Though as usual even he didn't know much, Apple secrecy at play but there was a rumour in that iPad mini may come with this feature.

May I ask you the source of your info..?

No source, it is my personal opinion and knowing what apple usually does. And those apple ccs are useless and they don't have much knowledge about new products. So no point believing them.

Without calling does it stand a chance against the mighty competition? I've seen consumers in front of my eyes opting for Samy instead of apple tabs & calling facility being the sole reason. Market these days is a feature game, whosoever trumps the other in features, takes the game. Apple either has to offer this facility in bigger ibrick if not in the small one!

Am a strong android and open source fan

But iPad is simply in a diff league due to the apps
see the simple eBay Flipboard or any app on android and ios

None of the android apps are optimised for big screens, that is a real deal breaker for me
the wastage of nice screen space simply pissed me off

Now am a huge iPad fan until some good tablet apps show for android platform and not just re scaled or resized pps!!

On homeshop 18 ,new ipad 32giga +4g for 39k in superdeal of 24 hours.I would had bought it but white...eeeh...is that a good deal?I feel so because nowhere on ebay i can see any price lower than 44k.

True that. The newer mini iPads will not come with a call facility unlike those Galaxy tabs which has this feature. And Apple does not need this feature on the device to sell it in millions. I am betting Apple wants to capture the sub 25k market with the newer tablets which is essentially owned by the Android segment.

I am really amused by the arguments you guys are throwing at iPad mini. You guys are comparing it to kindle fire and Nexus 7 and at the same time looking for calling facility. Does the direct competition has the same no why would this. Also practically speaking a galaxy note being 5.5" itself looks huge as a phone I wonder how a Nexus 7 or an iPad mini will look like next to ones ear.

As for the pricing I am sure it would be in the range of 17-18k and not more with basic WiFi features as if was to come for 23k it would be in direct competition with iPad 2 which I believe would be a better buy due to its bigger screen. It would be priced similar to an iPod touch with 32GB of storage with a little slower proccy then ipad3/iPhone 5 and a 5MP rear camera as even a nano has one now. Finally it would have Siri and 3d maps with navigation as its the only thing iOS 6 has fresh to offer. And of course it would be the best iPad yet(according to Apple).

I have one pertinent question, why would Apple not include "calling" facility in an iPad(regular/mini)? Tabs costing mere 5k have this feature, not to forget Apples biggest rival Samy. Why would Apple want to loose consumers because of this one feature that is the talking point these days?

Im dead sure that the next iPad, not the Mini maybe, will certainly have this feature. Just think of it how useless it is to give 4G but not calling. Imagine your primary 3/4G sim going into the iPad & you are left with no "Call" option. Its like you are cut of from the World. I for one cannot imagine such a scenario hitting me!

Including "calling" would be a logical thing to do for Apple.

See the way in US it works is different and apple's primary market is US. So in most cases people DO NOT put their primary SIM cards in their iPad but companies like AT&T have separate plans for iPad which only have data.

Yes with a U.S. perspective, it makes sense. So that means I will not have to buy the next gen. ibricks!
