Have ordered this and mentioned as gift hoping boxes are good. If not, I will be returning / rejecting delivery. Already giving both my kids their own lego sets (knockoffs) tomorrow and this flower is for wife. Hopefully she appreciates it.




Also, we need more pics guys, latest sets you got or probably you made a display cabinet for your legos or already have one that you would love to show. Progress pics and what not.

A 1580piece transformer optimus prime set which costs 20K regularly and 11K in this Diwali amazon sale is selling for $40 approx and $8 shipping.
A London architecture <500 pieces set (clone of lego architecture set) sells for $18 or so and has a $8 shipping and if you add 2x of this architecture set then it is still $8.

They just stopped selling them I guess. They had a clearance sale last year, I picked up the dune buggy for less than half.

Do post your experience with that shop. I'm curious how they manage to ship

Made the dinosaur With my kids yesterday. This is of Waco brand. There were no missing pieces. In fact, there were extra pieces. And the instruction were very clear. Bags also were numbered.
One of the pictures has a mini figure in it, To indicate the scale of the dinosaur.

I checked if it is available in India or not and right now on amazon it is not available but from keepa I found that it was available few days back with minimum price as 40K and max as 70K. Ofcourse it was going to be expensive. In US it sells for $200.

Clones on aliexpress have already started popping up but even they are like 6.5-7K INR excluding shipping and customs. Seems it will take time for prices to come down.
Great set to get from original lego from US or HK.
 
Finally done. Collaborative effort from my son and myself. He did most of the work.
This thing is big and wife is already asking "where the hell are we gonna keep this?"

Being a replica, i was scared about missing
pieces, thankfully nothing is missing and few extras are there too. One pic has minifigure for scale.
Parts quality are top notch and lego like. No ill fitting parts and everything is proper.
One can even follow the original lego manual (using lego builder app) to build this set as steps would work here too. The manual that came with the set is like more compressed with lesser pages and few steps they have jumbled (not wrong) compared to original lego manual. We used the lego manual too at certain places where the paper manual got confusing.

Made this small vehicle today with my kid. Had to switch some pieces (in terms of color) as we didn't have any. We never had made this and it is part of a bigger lego set but we don't have pieces for the bigger vehicle. Only found for this.

All bought from Alibaba seller and shipped using a freight forwarder to India.

Seems all pieces are there and even extra pieces (in its dedicated bag). Manuals are good and i am sure original lego Manuals (through lego builder app) will also work on these builds as these are exact replicas of original.
Stickers also provided. All bags are numbered properly and manuals (except camper van) are having instructions as per Bag number exactly like lego.

This is a good seller on taobao thru pandabuy. He sells only replica legos I think. Got 2 sets and both are good. And yes as you said, it is an ocean and there is no way to know what is good and what is not. I took a chance with a small set (lego city architecture) and it turned out good. I saw the below linked seller having good overall ratings and good sales and he seems to exclusively sells only replica Legos and not some other brands of MOCs so I think it is his speciality so bought from him. If I need to get something else, it will be him for me I feel.

Alibaba is little tricky as some sellers will outright say they don't do retail. The one I dealt with is ok to do even one piece as long as shipping is within China. I took a chance here honestly with alibaba seller and to make sure I get good rate through freight forwarder, I had to get minimum 5 Kg else shipping rate was more than double per Kg. The FF gave be different rates for <5 kg and >5kg. But at least from the 4 sets I received, I feel they all seem A-Ok. I am yet to make them though so cannot tell more.

My cousin went for business to few cities in China so got this through him. I ordered it through a Alibaba seller who shipped to his hotel address in Guangzhao.
Size of that tyre. :eek:
Cost me ₹1650 or so landed to his hotel.

Just finished Wing Gundam Zero, smol edition. Costs about Rs 425 before shipping and customs. Have 3 more to build.

Took me about 2.5hrs to put them together.
