HTC Tattoo's resolution is a bit odd and many android store apps won't work properly on that phone.

Check Samsung Galaxy (android) , Nokia 5800XM (symbian) and HTC Touch 2 (winmo)

you may not like nokia 5800xm due to it's size but is a very good and reliable phone in that price segment. been using it for 6 months and no problems till now h/w wise. few bugs in s/w are fixed by firmware upgrades.

Hi,

Need a VFM phone upto 15K...Dont like the Nokia 5800X brick...so would like some other options.

1. Touchscreen - Good size would be a plus
2. Wi-fi
3. 3G
4. Keypad / No keypad both would work
5. Good Music phone.

Thanx in advance.
Now that Samsung Jet price has fallen to 13.7k - it would qualify for a look in under 15k. Great AMOLED screen- 5 MP Cam which is really the best- Wi-fi- 3 G- the works for connectivity.

I was very sure on grabing the Nokia 5800XM but the shopkeeper suggested me to get the 5530 instead. He says that in terms of music quality, touch response it is better than 5800.

Is is true? It is cheaper too, so should I get it? My main concerns are music quality and touch response/browsing via wifi.

5530 has smaller display, no 3g, no gps, smaller battery and less battery life. It is no way better than 5800. It's better to get 5230 for 8k than 5530 for 11k.

The things I like about the 5530 is its size and looks and it being cheaper by 1.8k. I was wondering how much would the absence of 3G and GPS in India affect me in the long run. How do they compare wrt touch response and music quality?

I need wifi so 5230 is out of the question and I dont mind the smaller display of 5530.

Im really confused now, as I'm new to the mobile world so please help me out as I'll be buying today itself.

And also, is the 5800 going to be discontinued in the next 2-3 months? What kind of affect could that have?

^^GPS will be very helpful sometimes and another major problem is with battery. it has tiny battery and rated only at 4hr talktime which means you may need to charge the battery atleast once in a day.

Given that the price difference between 5530XM and 5800XM is just 1.3k, I would go for 5800XM>

touch response: both sport the same resistive touch display but since 5800XM has more real estate, it's much easier to browse pages on 5800XM. Also due to smaller display, the font will be smaller and as a result it's difficult to work with webpages.

music: 5800XM music quality is pretty good and 5530XM is more or less the same afaik.

if you get a chance, check Samsung Galaxy Android phone.

I need opinions. Micromax Q5 , Micromax W900.

The w900 looks interesting as it has win 6.1 and wi-fi. I haven't seen anyone here speak of the phone. Is it even available?

I'd like to know a rough estimate of both.

And also, dual band, tri band, quad band. Does it make much of a difference? In what way?

i am going to buy a samsung spica for my brother . are there any major flaws in the phone apart from the cam department. ..can the phone work as modem without any problems so dat i can use 3g on computer.

hey guys if anyone is looking for a new touchscreen phone do check out the new SAMSUNG MONTE, just bought it for a friend for rs 9k@ hotspot delhi. I found it much better than nokia 5800, it also offers wifi, 3g, dual cam, 3.5 jack, 3inch ts, and new touch wiz os plus has a good retail package including 2gb card, pouch, data cable etc. IMHO its a complete nokia 5233/5230 killer. It has a 3 mpx cam & good earphones, do check it out,

but the major downside is the TouchWiz UI, which is primitive when compared to superior S60v5. Capacitive touch is yummy though :)

have heard lot of complaints when people tried to hook up spica with windows 7. and not sure about it's compatibility with xp too. overall, a pretty solid phone to have.

what's your budget mate. that microshit looks good only on paper. And do remember that on a slow h/w, winmo will be a serious pain in the butt. Dont fall for the paper specs.

guys, what is the current price for nokia 5800?
i checked out sangeethamobiles and they quoted 14k
then went to univercell and they quoted 13.6k.

are this anywhere close to a good deal?
