^^ but keep in mind that n73 is a smartphone( this means a hell lot of apps), and has a larger 2.4 inch screen and has better speakers, ofcourse is much slower, looks are not as good as k810i

but then he prefers a fast phone..
so that rules out the n73!
moreover i don't think he intends to fill it up with all kinds of apps..

both 5610 & k810 support enough java apps and are obviously fast!

I am looking to buy a new phone. here are my requirements:

Camera is a NO NO (workplace wont allow :mad: )
Want to listen to MP3 and set them as ringtones
Expandable memory
bluetooth support. Preferably to listen to music
Must be fancy :D
Priced around 5k - 6k but i am open for suggestions
Maximum colour support

Hi Mr Hotstuff. I would really value a fast phone actually. Applications I will install are: Dictionary and a few games. That's it. I am not much of an audiophile so that's not a big factor either.

That 2.4 inch screen on Nokia N73 seems tempting but I think overall SE 810 would be a better choice.

One last question--- Where should I get it from? I live in Chandigarh. Are those big Sony showrooms the best choice? What about Subhikhsha?

I'm quite sorry..

With most manufacturers including a camera(be it VGA or MP) in almost 90% of their phones,there's just nothing to recommend in the 4-6k segment with the exclusion of a camera..

there are however FM phones for under 3k but your not gonna get the fllg:

*Expandable memory

*bluetooth

*mp3 playback

*fancy looking?? no way!

if your ready to compromise,i'll be glad to help..

that said,there's the Samsung F200 that meets your requirements @ 6.8k !

if you can check out the nokia e series - e50 costs around 7.5 to 8k and meets your requirements....
iys discontinued so hunt arnd and you might end up with a cheaper price

Well,I didn mention that for 3 reasons:

It's not exactly fancy

It lacks FM & is not a music-centric device ..

It clearly exceeds his budget

Moreover,having a tough time finding the non-camera model..

End of the day,its still worth considering if your out of options..

if you have a Subhiksha mobile store in your locality,you'd probably get the best price there!
Don't bother getting it from exclusive Sony Ericsson Showrooms..

thanks for the suggestion man.. which one of these are the best ?.. ive heard SE850 is not such a good phone.. Ive eyed the viewty but not sure if its worth the hype. I want a good cam phone where is would really help me take pics in Macro mode :)

I suggest u buy cheap phone and Sony Cybershot digicam for photography!

K850 is overall not good camera phone but since you are specifically looking for macro, it is just a bit ahead of others...

but anyway, other aspects of the phone are quite bad

Well,if your budget is strictly under 6k..

then the only option is the

Nokia 3500 Classic ~ 5.4k

however,if you can stretch your budget a bit..

go in for the

SE K550i ~ 6.7k

The best budget 2mp camera phone so far!

well,there is a lot to take into consideration as all of them are reasonably good..

So,The best 5mp phones in terms of camera,functionality and overall usability are :
the Nokia N82 & LG KU990 Viewty !!!

At this point it comes down to personal preference among the two..
