I want to buy a smartphone (touch screen).
need all the features one can throw. Can even manage to get one from US.
So I have primarily two querries:
1. Which amongst the three Nokia 5800 (price not known yet), Htc Tytyn II (will need to get from US what should be the US price, Asus P320 (cheapest smartphone with GPS, India price ???)

2. I need a standby phone as well. Cheapest with MP3 + FM + colour phone +good battery life.

Thanks in advance for ur insights
Let me put it in another way. I had shortlisted 3 phones so needed the market prices and the gurus' opinions for the three on which would be the best amongst the three.

Budget for the smartphone is upto 20k (i would mention that this will be my first smartphone so would like to spend lesser money)

Budget for the standby fone is as less as it can get (2-3k)

cheers

yeah toxic .. thanks man..!
only one little bit more: you think with the help of some software download wed be able to load the gps functionality onto it?

If i'm not mistaken, you need to have a gps modules in the phone for gps functionality or the availability of a gps module attachment for the phone..

Now that's what I wanted to know !

Well among the 3 u mentioned..

The HTC P4550(Tytn 2) is undoubtedly the most capable(spec wise) !

But the snappier, multimedia oriented 5800 is a perfect alternative..

So set your priorities straight and decide between them..

Not only is the 5800 cheaper than the P4550 but also features a 3D accelerator, better camera, better battery life and provides a much better multimedia experience ! But is that what your after?

Skip the P320 if your considering the above two...

Options for budget FM/MP3 phones:

SE W200 ~ 3.8K

SE R300 ~ 3.3K

Moto W388 ~ 3.3K

Samsung B520 ~ 3.2K

SE K330 ~ 3K

Moto W230 ~ 2.4K

Samsung B210 ~ 2.1K

Did u mean a 3D Graphics Accelerator or the accelerometer? The accelerometer does take input in 3 co-ordinate axes and so is 3D.
But if u meant graphics accelerator then I think u are mistaken. The 5800 does not have a graphics accelerator.

Rest assured I meant the Accelerometer !

I didn't specify the word GRAPHICS,did I?:p

BTW,it's also got a 3D Image engine... ;)

Thanks for your reply.
I hope all the budget phone u mentioned have a memory card slot and can support 1 GB microSD minimum?

Do you think nokia 5800 is worth the wait. I believe I have pissed quite a lot of nokia dealers asking them when this beauty is being released.:eek:hyeah:
I believe 5800 will be launched in India before it is launched in US so getting it from US is simply out of question.
What target price should i set if i get the TYTN II (INR/USD) ,Also aint the phone a bit too heavy at around 190 gms

The fllg have mem card slots:
SE W200,Moto W388,Samsung B520 & Moto W230 have mem. card slots..

Yep the Tytn is bulky and it retails for 29.5k here!

And yeah its worth waiting for the 5800..

I think u meant HTC P3400 instead of P4300.

The HTC Touch whose price u mentioned, is it the Touch Dual(i.e Does it have a hardware keypad) or the HTC Touch having 128MB RAM? ? ?

The N81 whose price is mentioned, is it the original one or the 8GB version? ? ?

Yeah the HTC P3400 ! And that's the price of the standard N81 ...

I would say the cheapest GPS enabled phone I have seen is the Asus P320 @ 10,750 (alfa, mumbai).

The others mentioned above are 13k and above.

Also please make sure u have a fair idea how much of the GPS u would be using.

I doubt if a mobile can last more than 3 or max 4 hours on continuous GPS usage. If your usage is more than casual go for an independent GPS module.

You get the benefits of a bigger screen and a prolonged battery life.

still searching for a cell with everything but no Camera any suggestions of models easily available in market?

I know that the E51 has a version with no camera. But it lacks GPS and has small screen. If you really want everything, search for a version of E71 or E66 without camera.
