The 1st Phone

Your options:

Touchscreen

Samsung i900 Omnia ~ 25.9K*

HTC Diamond ~ 21.9K*

Non-Touchscreen

Nokia N95 8GB ~ 24K*

Nokia N85 ~ 22.2k*

The 2nd Phone

Err...where are you getting the N79 for 15K?

You'll have to increase your budget for that.

So for 15K max:

Samsung F480 ~ 15.4K*

SE W705 ~ 15.7K*

Hope this helps.

Plz suggest a cell for the following requirements:

1. Dedicated for music

2. 3.5mm jack

3. Memory expandable to 8Gb

4. Good Battery Life

5. Budget arnd 13-14k

Your options:

Moto Rokr E8 ~ 12.3K*

Samsung i450 ~ 11.7K*

Moto EM35 ~ 11.4K

Nokia 5310 XM ~ 8K*

Although there are SE phones in this price range, they don't come with a dedicated 3.5mm jack which can be a deal-breaker for a music phone !

Hope this helps.

can you reconfirm about the ext. memory support for samsung i450. Also someone please comment about the sound quality/music player of the above mentioned phones as compared to a mp3 player and comparing against each other.

I dont know if the i450 supports 8GB card or not. But there should not be any problem as such. You better check out the review of the i450 on mobile-review.com They use some large capacity cards to test.

According to all the reviews, the Motorola E8 has the best sound quality, comparable to dedicated PMP's(something like the Apple one's not Cowon, Archos quality. No phone other than maybe the Serenta can hope of achieving the quality of Cowon, Archos). My friend has the phone and the only bad thing about it is that the maximum volume through the earphones is low if compared to Nokia or Samsung phones.
Another friend has the i450 and the sound through the earphones is good. But there is one small problem. If you want to use the speaker to hear music, you will have to open the slider since the speakers are underneath.

If comparing between the i450 and E8, I would suggest you go for the i450 because it has Symbian OS and a normal keypad. The keypad on the E8 is not that bad but I prefer the tactile feedback of normal keypads and I slowed down considerably while writing on the E8 as I had to look at the screen continuously to see if the correct letter has been input.

I need urgent help from you guys. My dad had nokia 6131 indeed its very loud. Now its gone kaput and we disconnected our landline. He is currently using nokia 6610. The ring volume is too soft often he misses calls. He wont carry in his pocket at home. Phone is placed over the table. I need really loud ringing phone and easy to use simple menu so i am sticking to nokia. Please suggest me a good mobile with in 4K.
Only criteria ring volume should blow his ears. :ohyeah:

NOKIA 5130 XpressMusic - how is this phone..wavetel quoting 5769 with 1 gb memory ?

It's one of the best options for music phones under 6k !

However, there are a few issues that have been reported :

1. Occasional Freezing/Restarts (Buggy OS)

2. Average battery life

3. Scratch prone screen

4. Average Camera

Not sure if a firmware update rectifies the first two issues.

I strongly suggest you try out this model before you purchase it.

The Nokia 5000 (4.1K) should do the job !

It misses out on a memory card slot though.
