Hi! I'm looking to buy a cell phone for my Mom. Max budget Rs 2 K.

Should be very basic with no frills but simpler to use.

Should play mp3 ringtones and have a loud speaker.

Should play FM without the need of handsfree.

Kindly suggest.

similar dilemma b/w defy and nexus S.

confused b/w nexus S @18.5K (ebay after 1K coupon) and defy@ 14K (letsbuy ..14.6K- 600 for bluetooth headset)

+ Nexus S

Larger Screen(4" vs 3.7")

Better CPU & GPU

16 gb storage(vs 2gb in defy)

Lesser SAR value (~0.5 vs 1.5)

+Defy

Compact ( Nexus is 1.5 cm larger)

Rugged

Cheap
If you can spend 18.5k then I would say go for the Nexus S. One more advantage of Nexus S is that it will get frequent updates from Google and will certainly get official Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0?)

Nokia C7 is good, but not for macro shots. I don't know about documents though, although using a fixed focus 5MP cam from an X6, they come out pretty decent and perfectly readable on zooming.

Is GPS/Maps availability good for Samsung/LG? I want something like Ovi Maps from Nokia, found those to be pretty accurate.

hey guys

phone suggestions plz
budget - 6k - 7k
the phone is going to be used for quite a few years, by a female friend of mine..
the usage will be what a girls usage is, 3g is a must
brands such as spice and micromax are a strict no

one more thing, she's not going to buy online so using coupons and offers on sites such as letsbuy etc. is not possible

I use 1252 and its real good for the money spent. Amazing battery life and loud voice.
Plain vanilla phone, no frills. FM is there and stores 1000 contacts and 1000 sms. Pretty good.
