Like how some over here are trying to be extra smart ass by not giving us damage figures and mode of procurement :bleh:

Don't be a spoil sport... you know show-offs are no fun without damages ;)

Get with the program already
Actually I posted how I plan to source this phone a while back in sunny's thread. And even Udit has posted the link of the shipping company which I used.
You buy from here, get it shipped there and they forward the shipment to you.

It is impractical for individual to suddenly decide you want to buy Nexus today and place an order right away.
Does not work.

Account verification takes 4-5 days from google's side after providing ID and address proof. Document verification by myusabox or other similar services can take another week. I could go ahead with this only because I am using their service for a while now to procure stuff for my father ( nothing related to IT / comps ).
You you cant just decide you want it today and buy tomorrow at the moment.

^Thanks for sharing this, will be quite beneficial.

I thought my 640x360 3.7" AMOLED was the best thing out there till I saw nexus one, 800x480 must look killer..

@Shripad - any issues with customs duties? If not, it makes sense for me as well.. looking to order a DSLR from there.

mind telling us how? other people might also get benefited by it?

MyUSABox

@TechHead: They ship using DHL so usually they will take care of all the customs duties wherever applicable.

^That's what I'm wondering about.. was he charged? I intend to order a DSLR for about 50k or so, or I can just pick it up from HK next month.

Yup,
I was charged the duty.
There is no way to avoid the duty with like of DHL / Fedex if you want to ensure you get your package insured to full value.
You can always under value your item with them, but at your own risk. And even then customs people will assess a certain value if they dont buy your declared value.

The cam is my old faithful Canon SX10 IS. Has served me well.

Sold my both DSLRs to save up the money for A850 :P

Actually in some cases you can avoid the duty. I recently got my iPhone shipped through them, and along with it I also had a few magazines shipped.

The box in which the items came listed magazines as the item(s) being shipped and maybe that's why I didn't get charged a penny but it depends on your luck I guess.

Yeah, but in that case no insurance.
See, its personal choice in the end.
If they open the shipment which they do sometimes even if its DHL / Fedex guys, they will assess some value and charge duty anyway.
Happened last time when I got camera accessories, lenses, etc etc from them. So you pay the duty anyway and you have no insurance.

And if something goes wrong in such cases, you are screwed.

Now I can pay $5 for insurance, pay the duty and have peace of mind with insurance.
Duty wasnt much anyway. 2k odd for duty is fine with me for such an expensive item :P

Awesome . :)

I wonder why Google does not want every one to buy/enjoy a phone ,expect the few in few countries . :(
