I have heard that fight is really challenging.
@Alpha: Thanks for the heads up. I picked up quite a few quests from the contract board in Flotsam. Currently on the 'Troll Trouble' side quest and it already gave me an alternate approach to that quest.
Oh, you have to wait till the last boss fight for ACT I. Then you will know the true difficulty arc, the Kayran is more of a puzzle boss fight.
Yeah better explore the entire Map completely, you will find ~3 -->4 ways to conclude the Troll Trouble quest.
And at the same time do complete the Arm-wrestling side quests, they are a good way to generate some money if you are in a pinch.
Hmmm...I have decided to help the Troll and now I have to find out who killed his She-Troll. Not sure where to get that information.
Cheers! I'll resume it at 'noon. BTW, what's your download status update?
Any recommended potions that I drink prior to the fight? I have already consumed rook. Someone also suggested using bombs on them. I purely used Quen last night and was able to kill around six, before being overwhelmed with the number of wraiths.
Drink Swallow to improve the rate at which your health recvers [in combat].
Next use the sign which spits Fire [I think it is Axii], that is the most effective against wraiths, more importantly use the Samum bomb, as a rule of thumb elemental damage, such as Fire and Cold / Ice have a great effect on Wraiths and other spirit type enemies in The Witcher, using grapeshot and other fragmentation / physical effect bombs will not have the same perceptible effect on these enemies.
Use Grapeshot on enemies like Nekkers, Arachas and Endregas, Harpies in conjunction with the Quen sign.
Hope this helps and happy adventuring.
I have a query concerning the Nekkers. I wanted to know how do we destroy the entrance nests to these freaks? That's in conjunction with the 'Nekkers contract' quest. I was able to beat both the Endegras Queens and eliminate that threat. But each time I raided these Nekkers territories, Geralt keeps saying "I need to blow up the nest" and nothing happens. Tried 2 bombs on it; Samum and Dancing Star (I think), but still nothing happened. Grapeshot bombs cost ridiculously high from Cedric. What's the best way to get them? Crafting I assume?
