Guys I downloaded the patch manually but now I have run into an error, will post appropriate screenshot in the evening.

What should I do --

1. Re-download the entire patch, slowly this time*.
   
2. Sell my old copy with all the assorted feelies minus the Paper dolls [as they are lost for now] and buy a new copy of flipkart.com.
   

Please help me, Cheers!!

*Took me ~60 hours to download the individual file pieces, 9 --> 12 hours per day between 18[sup]th[/sup] to 23[sup]rd[/sup] April.

What's the error? Is it the 'CookedPC\pack0.dzip' being corrupt error? If you have downloaded the split files, then it's probably one of the files being corrupt. If that's the error, then it's not your fault. CDPR had botched up with one of their file uploads; TW2EE_Patch-2.bin. Try to re-download it via this link: TW2EE_Patch-2.bin

Delete the old file from your folder and paste this one and re-run the patcher.

That's the very first error that got everyone enraged when the patch was first released. I got this while reading up on another forum. Just hope it sorts out your issue, considering the amount of time you spent downloading the freakin' patch.

Anyway, about my progress, well, I have reached chapter 2 on Roche's path. Completed Bring it on: Kaedweni Camp, Prelude to War & The Butcher of Cidaris mission. I officially suck at poker, so I just keep going at it, till I win. Good thing, there is only 20-40 orens at stake here.

There's one thing I noticed; I collected around 4 different missions from the notice board, while Zyvik was showing me around the Kaedwen camp. But only one mission's entry popped up 'The Rotfiend contract'. What happened to the rest? There was something about a tournament. about the four coins and one other thing that I fail to recollect. None of those showed up in my journal. Are they obtained over the course of the chapter? I got an invitation to the tournament from Proximo. So I guess that would be the one mentioned on the noticed board.

Yeah searched for it word by word right now, seems peeps all over are facing this issue. Well I un-installed my game because the half patch left the game broken. Will reinstall and post ASAP whether issue is solved or not. On a side note it seems multiple files are corrupt, so will keep my ears pricked for further solutions. The grand review is going for a serious delay into March

I hope you are enjoying the game, not just progressing through it. My favourite about the Witcher 2 is the animatic cut-scenes that have been implemented to explain Geralt's views and returning memories. Gives the world a colourful yet dark overtone.
What happened to the rest? There was something about a tournament. about the four coins and one other thing that I fail to recollect. None of those showed up in my journal. Are they obtained over the course of the chapter? I got an invitation to the tournament from Proximo.
The thing in the Witcher is you have to build on the quests yourself, Rotfiends got highlighted because every time you leave the camp they come in your field of view pronto and it is a monster contract.
For other contracts, pertaining to the Fish coins, talk to Dethmold for details and check your journal for a quest pertaining to traitorous fish and imperial ploys. Proximio will help too, in the quest as you can join the tourney and help a young fellow with playing a team duel with him against a really dangerous foe.
On a side note, Ves will challenge you in the Arena [Proximio quest line] beat here in the duel, make the right moves and well you know...
Other side quests are -->
Find missing Odrin, you will find a bunch of drunken soldiers crying out "Odrin!! Where are You?" initiate this side quest and it ties in with the fish coin quest.
In another part of the camp you will find a soldier mocked by his fellow comrades, talk to him he will initiate another side-quest pertaining to wraiths and spirits of vengeance. Finally speak to Zyvik and he will give you 2 side quests --

1. To find the missing recruits.
2. To replace his beaver hat in the catacombs of the lost brigade [in the previous battle his unit was completely decimated to a man], he was a lucky survivor and has since then lived with the guilt of not perishing with his comrade in arms, so he will task you with this quest. You will complete this part of the quest when you leave for Vergen to get General Vandergrift's sword from Saskia.

Relax guys! Rest assured, I'm not rushing through the game. In fact, it's quite the opposite. I'm chatting up with every NPC, roaming around the entire forest, experimenting with alchemy, gathering materials and most of all, I'm reading my journal. Now this is something I don't do very often. This game has so many interesting storylines being intricately weaved together. So even if I miss some bit of the conversation, I can access my journal and it has a neatly done summary of the events. Even the language used in it is very simplistic, which is highly required, for a game which keeps throwing so many names and slangs around.

Alpha, thanks for the tips, as usual. You definitely are a pro at this game.

Do play the game and let me know how you find the new ending, I will do a reinstall and re-patch of my game in this week and tell you how it affected my playthrough. I will take Iorveth's path just to keep the divergent story angle alive.

Also I think that should be the canon ending, although CD PROJECKT RED has not released any indications to what it terms a canonical conclusion, lest assured the next Witcher title will also factor in all these discrepancies whilst fleshing out its story. Enjoy the game and any place you get stuck give me a buzz.

Yeah for a reason, the rest are ignoring you. I am reacting to your comments, look we all try to avoid spilling the beans on major plot fixtures and fault lines.

Next this is not some fan-fiction service, go to youtube I am dead sure some-guy would've have gone the extra mile to upload the particular cutscene which is the root of contention.

By the way I tried to search for the original site for the links for the patches haven't been able to find them. If you can direct me please, it will be a great favour.

No after the unsuccessful patch broke my game, I had to un-install the game. Then re-installed after returning home yesterday evening.

Now the cheeky thing does not accept any of the earlier patches I had, from Patch 1.0 onwards it simply throws up this error -- "The installed game is invalid OR incomplete. Patcher is shutting down".

Then I thought that my patches were all corrupted, so I go online to search for these patches, note from the v. 1.0 patch onwards [which disables the DRM inflicted by Namco Bandai]. I find no links for the same, tried going on TheWitcher.com again the links seem to have been shelved, everywhere the Enhanced Edition patch and Patch 2.1 are the only available downloads.

So I have a legit copy, but cannot play [even the most base edition of the game]. Cannot patch the game to Enhanced Edition without the previous patches, so literally back to square one.

Whenever I try to open the Launcher, it asks me for a Serial Key, I input my Key and the Launcher terminates.

seems this also an oft reported problem, the Save games after Update 2.0 are the culprit here. So off with their heads I say and a fresh re-install of patches from ground-zero.

Any help pertaining to these files will be appreciated links [for actual downloads, Gracias.

Will keep the thread updated with my progress.

Plus, with the full client, there is only one installation to take care of. No need for patching after that. If you are even considering re-downloading the patches, then I would suggest you instead get the full EE client. If you are staying in Bangalore, then you can come to my place and copy it to a pendrive or something.

Unfortunately Sire, I am not in Bangalore anymore, shifted to Delhi 2 months back for intern-ship purpose. Either ways thanks for the offer.

Next up how do you download the client, you take the default self-updater routine and it patches the game automatically, Right OR Wrong?

I cannot use the self patcher as my gaming RIG is off the internet for the past ~2 years. I always downloaded all the patches for the Witcher 2 manually. Anyways, will delete my save files and report what happens.

Again if the situation doesn't improve I plan to buy the new copy of the Enhanced Edition from flipkart.com and will sell of this current copy in the market section.
