still the pc version havent released yet.

It is available on flipkart.com as a pre-order. Also the PC version was out on April 17[sup]th[/sup] along with the XBox 360 release, the point was original buyers could upgrade their copies directly to the Enhnced Edition unfortunately the transition hasn't been as easy as portrayed for me.

Hope this clears the air, Cheers!!

Glad that the thread is back on track!

With all the enhancements and the healthy discussions, I wish I had attempted the game now. It was fun nonetheless. What matters more is the company onboard for sharing the fun. Looks like I was solely playing Amalur and had no one to share a thing with. Sad!

The main point is it can be bought legit, physical copies and that is what bothers me as unfortunately I have a very slow MTNL Tri-band net connection. Hence downloading updates can be a pain, Cheers!!

Which path did you choose on your first attempt? Ioverth? Then why not try the other path now? The new content is mainly scattered in the 3rd act. I'm so engrossed in the game, that I'm planning to begin Ioverth's path, immediately after I complete the game.

Regardless, I hope we'll attempt Dark Souls at the same time, as planned. Now that it's coming to PC, I'm sure we'll have a lot of people onboard for the discussions.

Don't remember jack!

*refers the previous pages*

Yeah, to save Iorveth. I've like a huge pile of backlogs man. No doubt, Witcher 2 is an awesome RPG and I am sure if I start the game a second time, I'd definitely love playing it but unfortunately the backlogs are giving me a bad stare right now. Got to complete them quickly. With the onset of summer, the tiring days are back and I am unable to spend much time in the night.

Yeah, Dark Souls - we shall attempt together. No more postpones from my side, rest assured. 30 fps so be it.

Hey by the time Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition is released, I might have a reliable net connection. Can I join you guys in that playthrough.

What do you guys say? #[member='Gannu'], #[member='Ethan_Hunt']. Cheers!!

Hells to the yeah dude! The more the merrier. But be prepared to get your ass kicked, multiple times.

Back on topic, completed quite a lot of quests today morning. Had to take some time out to complete Dragon's Dogoma demo. Completed Ave Henselt (Ves

), Against the Blue Stripes, the poker and arm wrestling, The Rotfiend contract and last but not the least; Little Sisters. I really enjoyed 'little sisters' side-quest. It made you pay attention to the details to make the proper choice in the end. I went with my gut feeling and hit jackpot. Clobbered those sisters.

Witcher 2 is an excellent game. It's one of those games that actually has a good story. It's not about saving the world, it's about doing what's best for you and your friends. Your actions do affect the world, but there are things you have no control over and most of the time you have no idea about how your decisions might play out. The characters in the game are memorable. Cut-scenes are fantastic. Combat is fluid and fun. Quests weave together beautifully.

I really enjoyed the game, and it's the first game that I had no guilt shelling 1k + for.

Next up how do you download the client, you take the default self-updater routine and it patches the game automatically, Right OR Wrong?

No, you can download a fresh EE specific installer from GoG.com. I guess you would've been given a free backup copy on GoG.com right? Just go there and in your My Games page, Witcher 2 EE should be available. You can use use GoG.com downloader client. Install the downloader first. Then click on the game installer client in your My Games screen. It will add the Witcher 2 EE download in the Downloader. With this you can also pause/restart anytime.

But, yea, it will eat up your bandwidth if you have bandwidth caps. The full client is 15.6GB actually

It is not about how much OR download capping. It is about the download speeds at peak I am able to muster not more than ~60 KB/s, average down-speed is ~35 -->45 KB/s. Imagine ~60 hours for downloading the Enhanced Edition, bin-by-bin. If I am not wrong on GoG.com, I will first need to download the game installer, that itself will be ~11GB --> 14GB add to this the other patches + Enhanced Edition and I will be unable to play the game for atleast a month.

Now I get the error of corrupted source file, found out my corrupt file is -->TWEE_2_12.bin so I have zeroed down on that. The problem is the earlier incomplete patch completely broke my game, could not see menus, no highlights, so uninstalled the game.

Now after reinstalling the game it is not accepting any of the earlier patches, right from Patch v.1.1 which disables the DRM. I am stuck with a legit set-up but no way to progress after this point. So I am about to jerry RIG my RIG and connect it to the net do a clean install of the game AGAIN and lets see what happens.

If this is not going to work, I plan to sell this copy of the game + feelies in the TE market thread. If it works, saves me a lot of pain, Cheers!!

Haha hop in bro. This is going to be a tough one as far as the reviews and general consensus go so let us all be prepared for it.

I read a couple of days back that the online servers of Dark Souls recorded an average of 200 deaths per player! Let's say that is roughly forty times more than what the average gamer goes through during a normal playthrough.

Yes I hope things go smooth, Sire. Long time since I played a cooperative campaign online, the last one was a year back in Bangalore finished Dawn of War II and Chaos Rising in ~4 nights of continuous playback on STEAM and GFWL.

Tell you what Alpha, if you have a USB HDD which you can courier off to me, I can bundle all the previous patches along with the whole EE patch and send it back to you.

I will see what happens Sire, let me hook up the RIG to the net, need a lot of Windows updates as well once that gets done. I will do a last ditch manoeuvre of reinstalling the game again and seeing how it reacts with a direct net connection, if it works well nothing like it.

Otherwise I will take you up on the offer. Cheers!! And many thanks.

P.S. --> You stay in Bombay, right?

Can you just list the whole procedure you followed right from the start and the exact issue you're facing at the moment?

Yes. I'm from Bombay.

On topic, how do you increase the carrying capacity of the inventory?

Well I reinstall the game, after clearing everything even the User folders were deleted to prevent issues.
  • I install the game and associated redistributables [without issues] and click on Start The Witcher 2,
  • it comes up with the dialogue box demanding a SERIAL CODE, upon entering the SERIAL CODE on the back of my manual it terminates the program [basically the initial BUG which prevented players to play the game],
  • now I had my original Patch v.1.1 which was of the size ~110MB [downloaded from the Witcher.com] but the patcher shuts down immediately stating --> "Game version is invalid OR incomplete", googled this issue, seems the User folder has to go, so off with those heads and Registry was also cleaned using CCleaner.
  • Fresh reinstall of game, re-ran 2, 3 different variants of the Patch v1.1 [size ranging from ~10MB -->65MB], same error message as earlier, game is inavalid OR incomplete.
Now I plan to jerry RIG my gaming system onto the net and see how the game reacts after all my system gets patched up. Will keep you posted on further progress.
On topic, how do you increase the carrying capacity of the inventory?
You cannot increase it by buying any new back-packs unfortunately. Some clothing / armour sets / pieces will slightly increment your carrying cap by ~5 -->25. On the other hand, in every tavern / inn there is a extra chest specifically for you to dump stuff that is not required. Be careful though, if you move onto the mission where you cannot access this area this equipment gets lost*.
*very often the main quest line mission on the map, locks you out of interacting with the buildings so just before the finale kicks in, save and take whatever you need, rest of the junk either sell it OR let it rot.
Various locations of the extras chest -
In Flotsam -- In the basement level of the inn [which has the brothel to by the way], talk to the Inns proprietor and there is a dialogue option for the same.
Vergen -- In the room you stay.
Kaedweni Camp -- In the Blue Stripes camp.
Loc Muinne -- I am not really sure where, because it is such a rapid chapter there is hardly any need to gather stuff, it ends prematurely too. I think it should be in the local watering-hole [the bar there near the town square adjacent where Bras of Ban Ard is standing] OR The Gambling den.
Hope this helps, Cheers!!

Also the latest patch which includes the dark mode has armors that increase the carrying capacity by about 50. You also get a strong back perk if you help
Aryan La Vallete escape from the prison.

Yeah I forgot about this one, there. But I think the Blue Stripes armour itself adds some extra spaces OR does it not?
