I'm playing on the Normal difficulty. I was able to procure and craft the Hunter's armour. The dark armour sets you talk about, in which chapter do I get the schematics for it?

The Dark Armour sets are exclusive to the Dark difficulty mode, so maybe if you enjoy the game and give it another go do try that difficulty.

Another thing, on the first run experience the Roche story arc only then choose Iorveth's story. Else you will fall like a sucker for the latter for eternity just like me.

In that case, I'll stick to the normal difficulty. I'm not really too keen on trying out anything higher than the normal mode.

Okie doke! Does the game auto-save at that point or do I need to make a manual save right before that decision?

I highly recommend that you save the content yourself, as Autosaves get overwritten and the save system is not the best optimized for searches, it all saves in a sequential order with the mission name, very confusing.

is anyone else also having trouble downloading the patch/game on steam?? i am able to download all other games and updates on steam but the witcher 2 download just stalls n then when i restart steam it works fine for a min or so n then stalls again, so i tried deleting the whole thing and re downloading/installing it but it just keeps on giving me a "connection timeout" error!! and the worst part is that i tried downloading it on my laptop(it cant support the game but still downloaded the whole thing in a few hrs) and it got completed and i made a back up of it and tried restoring from that on my pc bt it still keeps on giving me the same error!

I got it backed up from the main saves directory itself. The date and time stamp were enough to give out the details. Also saved the file right before Triss and Geralt enter "the bath".

BTW, went with Roche's path.

I just beat Letho and currently assigned 'At a Crossroads: Vernon Roche'. Did I loose a chance at the 'Hung Over' side quest? That's the only one which I think I left out for this chapter. Any way to get it back?

Yep, you lost it; because if you go to the Blue Stripes quarters now [at the crossroads point] Vernon will detail a plan to stage an assassination of Loredo due to incriminating evidence being found about his 'loyalty' to Temeria.
The only way to get back to it is replaying from an earlier save point, preferable before the stand-off with the Arachas and the following tea-party with Iorveth.
By the way how are you finding the game vis-a-vis other classical western RPG's like Elder Scrolls series, Neverwinter Nights series, Mass Effect series, Dragon Age series and STAR WARS: Knights of the Old Republic series?
P.S. -- on a side note I am glad I fell ill today, about to finish patching the game by afternoon and then we will see Geralt de Rivia in a new perspective with a hopefully more through ending.

Dam it! I knew I should have attempted it, right before I began looking for Ioverth with Zoltan.

It's just that I could never figure out where the Blue Stripes headquarters was, until this morning. Anyhoo, I have a save right after I kill Arachas and have a rendevous with Ioverth. I remember towards the end of that conversation, I have an option to say 'I'm ready' or 'I have to something else to do'. So if I select the latter, will I be able to finish off that quest?

As for the other RPG's, I haven't played that many, to be honest. But I find it much better than Skyrim. Combat is definitely fantastic and dynamic. Coversations are top notch. Most of all, the decisions made in this game, actually have a dramatic impact on the future events, much like Mass Effect, but that much more mature.

Good luck with your patching.

Yeah I think you should be able to do it if you branch onto that conversation option.

Thanks matey, need that luck downloads speeds are piss poor on this accursed MTNL connection but atleast I have net to download stuff.

One question, do you require to do any online authentication whilst patching your game to Enhanced Edition, like entering the key OR something like that?

If your game is already installed, then it will just continue to patch the game like all it's previous patches. Apart from that, it didn't reuquire any authentication.

I haven't played Dragaon Age, but this game definitely has the most "mature" content, you'll ever see in any game. The only exceptions being God of War series and Dante's Inferno, but they are console game, so I'd side-line them.

ohhh....even thinking of it is giving me,,,he he.

^^please tell me what happens in the bathing scene.I will get it then.

Anyway, I finally installed the patch yesterday and saw the ending epilogue. Well, it is only a few screens showing the fate of all the characters because of your decisions in the game. This is really significant because there can huge differences in the endings.

In my case:

I had taken Iorveth's path, and let Stennis live. Stennis ends up becoming the king of Aedirn. Temeria gets divided between Kaedwen and Redania. I'm guessing Henselt killed off Foltest's kids. No idea on the fate of Saskia and her rebellion, but I had let her live.

In my brother's case:

he had taken Roche's path and he had allowed Roche to kill Henselt. In his case, the little girl Anais becomes the ruler of Temeria with some dude as the regent lord.

Also, there is a cutscene at the end of the credits. Dont miss it!

Now, I'm really baffled by the implications of these endings for the next chapter of the story.

In my case, Redania and Kaedwen are very strong and have split Temeria between themselves. But, I guess the people of Temeria would be hating them. In my brothers case, Temeria is weak, but the people of Temeria love the little girl ruling over them. Also, Kaedwen doesnt have a ruler. Now, all this becomes very interesting when Nifgaard invades in the next game.

Quick question; do both the paths lead to a different ending in Chapter 3 or are they same, just from different perspective?

The essential gist of the ending is the same, you see the regents of the North had to be divided so as to allow the North to be more vulnerable to an invasion from the South.
Most probably I will play the game all over again, from Prologue to Epilogue on Iorveth's Path and see how the game has been improved in the Enhanced Edition. Prepare for a basic primer / review.

Basically Letho had been given a deal, Emhyr Van Emries, Emperor of Nilfgaard promised Letho, Auckes and Serrit that if they help him to destabilise the North their school the School of Viper [a Witcher institute] will be restarted with his blessings. But like previously in the Witcher universe [those who read the books] the only winner in this game was Emperor Emries.
Most likely the next game will end this story arc of Geral de Rivia, with some pretty heavy revelations as to what will be the final fate of Geralt, Triss, Yennefer, Ciri and Emhyr Van Emries who are all intertwined by a thread of Destiny.
