LoL , why don't u just steal them from me tonight ?? Should i drop in my address ?? haha just kidding .

hmm iphone4 vs top grade CK-100 , i m letting my heart and mind decide . Let's see where do i end up .

Yup strategy , one thing you and me can do is , can think of a trade . if u have a IEM or HP of my taste in ur Audio Gear basket .

Update me with the current contents of your basket .

:annoyed: NO, I DON'T WANT ANOTHER IEM !!! I AM CONTENT WITH MY BASKET (which i will update in 2 weeks time)!! I dont want to trade, I can rob you though.

and CK100?!!?!!?!??, WTF you will throw them away for less quantity bass. ( I am there, to catch )

Drain all our money on Iphone 4, "nanga nahaye ga kya nichode ga kya " :P

Well RE262 in my "to be" basket suits you PERFECTLY. BUT as i said i am sure i will like their unique qualities as well.

S4 i can t trade cause they are my first IEMs , i love them.

M1, has less bass quantity

hmm my bad

Well , anyhow i have a plan in mind . Just something inside me is stopping me to spend 30k on a IEM , very much confused to spend 30k on a IEM or approx 30k on a iPhone 4 .

and ya , now as u r all fyn and absolutely well and out f fever , so plz change ur sig Doesn't looks good reading u still ill .

Also , any news on 252's ?? someone there @head-fi or you yourself ?? Read a post of urs on 31st oct somewhere , saying I miss my 252's , might buy a new one from head-fi soon.. haha

Hahahah I was in a similar dilemma . For me it was a customs vs iPhone 4 vs DSLR .I weighed all my options and finally went for the forbidden fruit :D Didn't want customs cause I felt spending so much on an IEM right now just inst justified since I dont earn and use most of my stuff very roughly (trains etc).Anything happens to my customs and I get a heart attack !Also with the M2s I just dont find a reason to upgrade unless I can get my dream IEM which is based on the M2 mids and TF10 treble, bass + soundstage.

I would suggest instead of spending so much on an IEM . Keep the RE-252 for pure nirvana listening , get M2 for the love of bass and get yourself an iPhone 4 :DOr else sell the 252s and get a used TF10 / IE8 under 10-12k and get the iPhone as well .

I still haven't got a RE-252, I am weighing my options .The head-fi deal if it works out will be ultra cheap .~100$ Shipped.

PS : Sorry , I am really lazy to find that edit signature tab and remove those red lines .I am still down with fever anyways ... exam fever :(

At 5k i will buy your RE252, ;) ...but that would be robing you. :)

buy a Iphone4 and be happy and free form itch. when you are up there with Iphone 4 the onlt thing that can itch you is the thought of apple releasing the next phone.

Itch is the main problem here, for that i can only advise you to look at Head-fi market. once in a day you see a good deal on IEMs there, grab it , you can always sell them at the same price later( if you have used them nicely)

Oh, and yeah pay extra for insurance. HAY, faheem any news on your, TF10( sorry for reminding you, if it not here :( )
The TF10 is a long lost dream :( Its gone .The shipper says mostly some one at USPS stole it as it never reached in India. The person is trying hard to get some compensation from USPS and try to find the parcel but right now Ive already taken it as losing my 9k which I saved for 6-8 months :( Hurts real bad cause there was a time I used to look at those TF10 snaps and impressions all day and dream about it. (Days when I had a PL-30,RE-2 etc) .Back then it had the cult status for me as the JH13/JH16 has now .. Finally I was getting it and it vanished into thin air !

ROFL .... This one used to be my fav dialogue in TEEN-AGE , neva knew even u have been a fan of those silly Govinda and Kader khan movies ...LMAO

Good to remember those old times :D

Well , let ur RE262 arrive , if u don't find them up to ur requirements , then we might go for a trade .

S4's love them as they are your first , M1 is good enough to keep your basket filled , wont look good empty at all .

Yup this sounds nice , i will have the iphone 4 as well as a top tier TF10 / IE8 also in hand , no further itch even :P

will concentrate this way now .

See if u can get my 252's traded to TF10's . Or some-one taking my 252's and me getting TF10 from another user .

Find some way out . Please ^^^

I will try .I did find a few RE-252 buyers on head-fi but most of them quoted 125-140$ shipped to UK /US . That's why I didnt bother telling you also .You would get a better price over here.

^ yeah now-a-days the dollar price is down ..dollar ..bah ..so cheap :P

140 with shipping is nothing, but you can get a trade offer such as PFE/DDM/DBA/etc. <=> RE252. or you can pay some and get a SM3/IE8/Westone3 (these three are on sale a lot these days )

@anubhav, : sorry even if i dont like them i wont trade or sell the RE262, as they are a gift ( i find it unethical to trade /sell a gift ). you can try my collection when i am in delhi ( december. )

to you what i well say is Join Head-fi , if you have not already, and keep yourself glued to the headphone market there. you are bound to find good deals.

Hell,a new unused RE262 was sold at $170 ..that equals 7.4K !! Just USE insurance

as you already have the itch, head-fi cant be blamed for THE itch, as some many blame head-fi for.

There's no cure for the itch. Even if you buy the "definitely-the-best-universal-IEM" out there, you'll end up doing the same thing all over again. So buy something good - may be a MTPG or Monster Miles Davis Tribute or even a Atrio M8, especially the MMDT. That way at least, you may have a buyer when you decide to sell next month ;)

LOl ..many buyers, yeah consider santosh's list before buying , that way you can be sure you will have a buyer when you sell them at the price you are letting the 252 go for.

M8 were available for cheap sometime back, now they have again gone up. :(

BTW here is a great deal on GR8 ( now that GR10 is out, but still a great deal ) @ $219 , these are moving armature IEMs said to give the best of both BA and Dynamic IEMs

MRP on these is 399 great deal !!

BTW they also have SM3 in stock and as per the page, shipping is free @379

they have MTPgold @249 with free shipping

ask them about the free shipping part if it is then great deal !

In short, a few ways -

Sell RE252 and look at -> TF10, Monster Miles Davis Tribute, MTPG, SM3, DDM, RE262. You can also consider UM3X - but those are monitors (the link I posted in the last page mirrors my thoughts on them).

Keep RE252 and look at something which complements them, not necessarily costly - M2, FA Eterna V2 etc.,

Keep RE252 and buy something from the top-end so that you satisfy your aural senses and drain your wallet - TF10 / IE8 from head-fi FS.

I can keep suggesting many IEMs, but guess I've covered most of them in this thread. So, you can take a paper, list down all of them and throw a dart preferably blind folded. Buy the one which is the closest to the dart. That is my most preferred method for selecting stocks, would work out for IEMs too.

@strategy,

Most Soundearphones Deal of the day are open box items and sometimes a very good deal. They had SM3 for $310 twice last month. They don't ship to India as of now.

strategy & santosh ..... Big Thanks for the suggestions this time .

This 252 makes me happy whenever i listen them for long hours . I ask myself at times " why am i selling them ?? " lol

Now , i'll wait till startegy , gets his 262's in hand and he posts his impressions on same .

In the meanwhile - will wait for a deal on TF10 pro . Toxicdrift had one , but he sold to benny i guess ( at a very attractive price )

For DDM also , will see on TE itself , i guess sanosh you and there's one more user in show off section having a DDM . Dunno if he wishes to sell them or not .

And in the meanwhile , will add Eterna , M2 etc to the basket :bleh:

I guess my soon to be coming M6 , wont put a smile on my face :(

^^ you are gona make enemies if you always look at their purchases and say " i hope you wanaa sell it " ...stop that!

 ..: "i guess sanosh you and there's one more user in show off section having a DDM . Dunno if he wishes to sell them or not ."

damn, HE IS SHOWING IT OFF IN THE SHOW OFF SECTION, WHY would he want to SELL IT.

LoL , I just hate making WTB all the time , and even PM'ing is such a hassle , untill needed .

I dint asked anybody else since a long time though :bleh:

BTW , strategy .. u kind of pulling my leg tooo much .. HUH !!

Wait , Come to Delhi in December , will do the same ... lol hahahaha :D

@strategy

anubhav is going to buy something different like Monster Miles Davis, MTPG, e-Q7, UM3X or even one of the Final Audio IEMs and the very next day is going to sell them to me before I even ask.. "Do you want to se..l... l...". You know, especially since somebody did research, survived customs, and are enjoying the IEM, but then are always ready to sell just because anubhav wants it, I am sure he'll reciprocate ;)

Exactly, not since 6PM yesterday evening :bleh:

Santosh ... Aaahh :@!! Too much .. huh :@!! hehe :lame:

I took out time to check my stuff today , sat for an hour , and brought all my IEM's

Journey started from

* EP-635 ( Cousion of EP 630 ) - What a Bass !! Bloated , too much mid bass , hardly any mids , treble ... did i even thought abt it dat tym ?? LoL . I cant believe there was a time i use to enjoy 635's like anything and used to feel soo tech-savvy having them in my ears .

* Senny's MX 360 ( not in-ears , just earphones ) - Sounded pretty good , No isolation , Just loud and clear music , bass notes present but neither too impressive nor very dull . In all enjoyable sound .

* Sound-Magic PL-11 - Almost cousin of EP635's , just with little better mids and some treble . In all ok ok sound . Nothing Impressive .

* Senny's PMX-60 - Nice open air headphone's , Bass notes low end frequencies not impressive , mids recessed , treble ok ok . Though have used them @ gym for many days . Those days when it was the highest audio gear in my basket , used to sound like one of the best i had , but today it was like not at all impressive , a lil pain around the ear too , cause of its design .

* Senny's HD202 - Closed Back headphone's , Trance , Techno , Club houses sounded great on them , But my fusion , ghazals and bollywood music sounded a lil dull . Bass is tight and punchy overall . But mids and treble dont shine up to the mark . But considering its price , i say they were pretty good . Price to performance ratio makes them a good buy for beginners ( what i actually was 1.5yrs back )

* Head-Direct RE2 - In one word , impressive ! Right at the moment I plugged them in my ears , i had a smile at least . Others till yet sounded dull . RE2 was bright , treble way better than PL11 and others i auditioned till now . Lows were exactly like they are supposed to be on RE2- a lil low . And very low if compared to PL 11 . Mids were a bit recessed . But I assure one thing , after spending like 30mins on RE2 , u enjoy the overall sound-stage , no fatigue in ears at all . Very nice and recommended for long hour listening :)

* Head-Direct RE252 - OMG , what a great improvement over others . First of all overall sound output , Highest among all my IEM's and headphones . Everything sounded so so so good , Treble is completely a new level . Mids Crystal clear , Bass though a bit better than RE2 but still not that punchy as some of us expect from our IEM's . But sound-stage and listening pleasure ossom .

I today realized , i own a TOP -TIER in real . And how it differentiates from others , Till yet i haven't done any comparison , just used to switch to my newest IEM and used to keep my older one in Basket . RE252 is a complete package of best mids , best treble , acceptable lows , and very neutral sound-stage . Again perfect for long hour listenings and almost perfect for the genre's i listen to .

I bet Today is the first day i realized RE252's real potential . Just a lil punch in bass would have made it my best IEM .

Now in pipeline - TF10 / DDM / Eterna V2 / DBA-02 / TH-9002 ( Fischer Audio)

 Strategy and Santosh - these were my impressions . Now your expert comments will please me a lot again

^ Everything's perfect other than EP-630 having sub bass.. They never had any sub bass just lot of mid bass boom :D If I write my IEM journey it will run into pages mostly.. and I bet I dont even remember a few of them . hehehe Now that I am in the mood , let me tell you about it .

I remember my first one was a EP630 as well (thanks to gaurav_t for the GO ) and when I got them for the first time I thought this was it - the ultimate sounding earphones  . I used to brag about it and show it off among all my friends who owned those crappy sony ericssion plugs :P And trust me guys in those days that was the only good one available ..Rest were Sennheiser etc costing 3-4k for CX400 :O .
But then Nukeu666 or someone told me that there are much better options out there and pointed me to the PL-30 .. I did so much jugaad (arrangements) for cash somehow and ordered it using my dad's credit card from MP4nation .Got my PL-30 after almost 40 days of waiting and was completely blown away by a new word I had learnt back then - called "soundstage" !! That was when I realized the potential of IEM world .Wrote my first ever IEM review on TE and used it as an entry for the Anniversary contest .Also won the prize and that gave the perfect boost I needed.

Sold of the PL-30 to a friend who fell in love with it cause the itch had already started then and someone on TE introduced me to Head-Direct.com | YUIN and told me that RE-2 for 49$ were a steal cause they used to retail much higher back then.Another few months savings and ordered that as well .This one came much faster within 20 days or something . Another insane step up and OMG moment when I tried them.

After that lot IEMs started coming in and reviews as well .Have a backlog of about 6-7 of them but I will finish all of them pretty soon . Of all the IEMs Ive ever used the one's that I cherished the most are , PL-30 + E5 , RE-2 , BRAINWAVZ M2 !!! and ofcourse RE-252.

Hope the journey continues till eternity and someday my signature would only have customs lined up one after the other .

Also guys I am thinking of starting a small portable audio / IEM/DACs / player blog with the same reviews as that on TE but this would help me to have all of them in one place and archive them .What do you guys think ? Would be glad if anyone can give me some suggestions , ideas etc.

@anubhav,

See! That's what I've been trying to make you understand all these days :)

What you require is more bass quantity, so DBA-02 is disqualified automatically. It would not give you the impact you seek.

The rest are ok. You could save money, go for TS9002 and sell of either that or M6 based on your preferences. For an 'upgrade', I think both DDM and TF10 would suit you. I have no idea how the treble in TF10 is and if you'll find it a bit tough to handle, I'll let faheem / haraakiri / benny / strategy or others to clarify on that. Considering you've got all dynamics so far, TF10 would be a BA to own for variety, though I don't think it sounds like a BA phone at all with respect to thickness of note.

PS: EP-635 - sub-bass? really?

Yeah! maintain something like clieOS does (where he posts both to blog as well as head-fi and other forums)! And finish that IEM buying guide (based on price range and/or sound preferences) and a IEM comparison table when you have time.

Reading your iem history and description of how you feel about each of them, I think the Tf10 should be perfect for you. It is definately Top-Tier and it is one IEM which no1 will ever say is dull, neutral, dry, analytical or technical.
It sounds like a Top Tier iem no matter what genre you throw at it as opposed to the Ck10 / Ck100 which cannot handle trance music at all. Even if you EQ it, u'll just end up distorting the sound when you reach the desired level of bass.
One thing I believe personally and YMMV of course is that an IEM/Hp should have good bass authority. One can always EQ the mids to be forward or recessed or add a bit of the treble sparkle. But if your IEM does not hit the right beat on the bassline, your pretty much screwed with your new 3-4hundred dollar purchase.
If you think the Tf10 is too common or you just wanna get something else, you should get the CK10. That IEM is TF10's worst nightmare in terms of speed, soundstage and detailing. The Trade-off being the bass department. If you listen to anything other than electronic dance music, especially acoustic performances, Ck10 is excellent.

Just saw this, thgt it might interest you

Sorry guys , for the typo of EP635 lemme edit this first of all .

Had it been having sub bass , it would have started sounding awesome .. lol

Lemme edit it .

@ Faheem - See how sweet old memories are . I was touched deep inside , seeing my oldie EP 635 . This was almost around 2007 .

I also owned a PX100 in between , which i sold to a TE member only . IT was open air , leaked plenty of noise . A complete NO NO headphone for my taste .

And yeah , the idea of blogging is pretty good . will keep things in one place . Easy to manage and post comments .

@ esantosh - i am also considering DDM and TF10 only . Dont wish to waste my hard earned money this time :bleh: Buying and then finding it not upto my taste , and then a quick sale . LOL

DDM as i have searched can be sourced from Accessoryjack . But others suggesting to hold this buy as news on new DDM is out and prices will lower down on the same .

Finding a used DDM isnt that easy task .

TF10 - Buying a new one is no sense i guess , as for its new price a new TIER in iem's start and at that level , i hear bells in mind saying CK-10 , SM3 .

Looking for a used TF10 , somewhere around 140-170$ , depending on the condition and age .

@benny - Thanks for the suggestions benny , your posts are always short and upto mark .

TF10 i can close the deal on the link u have posted , but i am not a member at head-fi , and have never bought anything internationally online . As in not comfortable with $$ payments . INR is absolutely fine .

If someone on my behalf can do the purchase and ship it back to me , then i am ok with it . I will pay him in INR for the actual amount he got charged on that day .

right direction i must say

Hmm. I actually have a long headphone journey.. didn't buy that many IEM's.. jumped from DT880's to JH5's.

I still miss my Gamma-2 --> Woo Audio 6 (With Sophia Princess) --> DT880 600 ohm setup. That is one of the best setups I've ever owned. 2nd would have to be Compass + AD900 back in India. Very good VFM. Third would be my current setup. Protector + JH5's.

SQ Wise the JH5 setup comes 2nd though, ahead of the AD900 setup.. but the AD900 setup was my first serious one, which I'll always remember.
