Trackers - Discussions Thread

Private trackers are kind of dead in this day and age of fast broadband and various streaming platforms
All this is good for trending or mainstream things. But if one is looking for specific or niche titles, they aren't much of help. Even public trackers aren't much help as you struggle to get seeders. PT or file links are the best.

Your on the wrong private tracker.

I'm an old school pirate, have been on and seen the rise and fall of trackers like ScT, FTN, what, SCC, pedros, exigo, FSC, FTWR, UK-T, waffles, gft, oink and at least a dozen more "exclusive" trackers I've forgotten about.
I used to sail the high seas a lot but have probably downloaded only a dozen or so torrents in the last 2 years because everything is pretty much available easily plus there's no hassle of seeding for days or maintaining a ratio.
Got banned on BTN, IPT & HDBits but I still try to keep my accounts on PTP, MTV, TL, RED, Orpheus and MaM active.

If you don't need access to things that are not available on streaming, then streaming is practical. If however you want stuff not available on streaming then you need to dig deeper. That's where things like private trackers come in. You must know all this if you've been around all those places.

If one is a hipster who wants to watch Bulgarian Neo-noir movies or a perv who wants to build a hentai collection then yea, there's a niche audience that some private trackers still serve.
I still agree there are useful sites like Bibliotik and Audionews but for most users a single general/0day tracker is sufficient for most requirements, even that though is gradually being rendered useless by DDL sites like sc***g.

I disagree, you don't have to be so niche to make use of a private tracker. There is plenty out there that streaming doesn't have.

Read my previous comment I never said no use at all, just that private trackers are becoming more irrelevant thanks to multiple sources including public trackers.

I did, for me I find a lot of content I can't find elsewhere. This includes streaming, public trackers and Tata Sky etc. I already agree that if the content you want is available on streaming then it is very practical. My main issue is the content I want is not available on streaming.

This. My pirate hat has been gathering dust since ages thanks to local pricing on steam, free movie+tv streaming on movie**ca and spotify for music.
Get a VPN subscription, gonna be an icing in the cake, You get to bypass regional catalogues and can even get subscriptions at a cheaper price if you play your cards right :) BTW Argentina has the lowest prices on steam games.

Private trackers a decade ago yeah, still had a charm, I remember folks trying so hard to level up being ELITE, which is another buzz word somebody in that universe created to make you feel specials by giving you bragging rights :) but for most folks private trackers were like FN Pokémon's , GOTTA CATCH EM ALL!

I remember most Indians ended up getting banned coz they ended up selling invites/accounts, a handful of Indian saw a business opportunity and got into the seedbox business are are successful till this date. We Indian shit so Fn hard on these trackers/community forums, Some trackers took extreme offense of the situation and banned India. Some trackers provided a leeway to existing Indian members before India made it to the GLOBAL BAN LIST, that another catchphrase you would find floating around a lot of the community forums like TPS etc. Ohh BTW forums had its levels too, You had some of the most Elite and hidden forums and people desperately wanted to get into them hoping community members would invite them to those "niche trackers" which they dreaming off all these while long.

In Midst of all the madness, there used to be few folks who ran their own agenda on WDMA sites and the next thing you know Everybody wants to be on them.

Nostalgia,
Your on the wrong private tracker.

been there, done that :)

I 100% agree with you, but the problems is trackers which keep most of these niche titles are slowing dying and some have long been dead.

Everybody wanted to be on FTN, Few kids were heartbroken to see it go away.

Desitorrents has opened the door after really long time.
Registrations are open now - if anyone wish to get, this is the time.
Thanks, I had already registered.
So is this the same old and famous desitorrents or some proxy site. ?
Is this desitorrents.tv the original website ?
I've no clue as I registered here first time, and probably don't need it but still it's ok.

I had created an account on Desitorrents last time they had opened and one day found myself locked out for no reason. Turns out it happened with many other people as well. Have moved on to Bwtorrents when they opened up recently and found that the content was many times better than Desitorrent.

yes this new version don't have the magic of the original plus the design is not user friendly.

They open up the registration quite regularly. I will update when they do it again. I liked them better because of more Hindi Flac content. Downloaded more than 600GB since I joined and that too all was freeleech. I might even have an invite, but will have to check.
