The Good
Naughty Dog is operating at full power here; this is an amazing marriage of narrative and action
The characters feel real, with great writing and voice acting
The action sequences are some of the best you'll find in gaming, full stop
The story should feel stock.. but it rises above due to the direction and dialog
The boat sequence. Holy hell. Buckle up.
Checkpoints are balanced very well
The design of the game's puzzles is always clever and inspiring
We've discussed the multiplayer in the past, and we'll be playing the co-op missions for review very soon. Can't wait!
The game explores some of the backstory of major characters, and it's fun to see where some of the relationships began
The Bad
Some of the escapes are just a little hard to believe, but then again... this was never a realistic game
The combat feels rough in places
Some of the gunfights seem slightly unbalanced, leading to frustration here and there
The story could have taken a few more risks
The climbing puzzles tend to work themselves out the same way: Nate jumps to something, it's knocked loose, he saves himself at the last moment
Some characters just kind of go away over the course of the game
There are a few plotholes that are never explained
If you want to play the game online for yourself, go get yourself a crappy sandwich
The Ugly
Elena... did you have some work done? Baby, you looked great before, there was no need.
Verdict: Buy
