You could've actually gone for the Otterbox Commuter. I'm using one with my Streak and it doesn't really add much bulk to the Streak and does a pretty good job of keeping it safe too. I just need to get the screen protector applied though. I tried putting one on myself and it looked like the screen had chickenpox! Lol.

Dell is suggesting me that my streak will be delivered by 1st Feb (thats a long wait).

And yes I'll be getting the Commuter or Defender. Gives me little more peace of mind at the cost of added bulkiness. Also I found that the PDMI port cover is kind of lousy in Commuter series which is the only thing thats stopping me from getting it. Commuter indeed is a lot slimmer.

It's not really so bad. Even I had read about it, but I've been using it for the last couple of weeks, and I'm pretty satisfied with it.

^^^

Have you seen defender in person ? I am really confused.

Based on the cover I buy, the car kit will be decided (slipGrip). So I am thinking of getting the best possible protection and get the defender. The commuter sure looks lot better and slimmer but that plastic back sometimes makes me think otherwise. That brushed metal look at the back looks very nice but sooner or later it will get scratched and my 35dollars will loose its worth :P (some random thought)

So whats your suggestion ? I don't mind spending 50SUD for the defender but is the commuter really that dependable ?

I've been leaving my Streak on tables at home and at work, and don't have a single scratch on it! From what I understand, even the Defender has a plastic back. The only advantage there is that because of the clip on the back, you can use it as a makeshift stand to keep the Streak up while watching a movie or something. Again, it's all down to personal preference. I didn't want my Streak to become too bulky, which is what the Defender would do to it, so I went with the Commuter. It does a pretty good job of protecting the Streak too. But at the end of the day, it depends on your personal preference!

^^

Hey D'silva, if thats not much of a trouble, can you please pose few pics of your streak in your hand (of course with the commuter)? I just want to get a better idea.

Also my streak is still in production. Not sure when will it be shipped.

Ordered a Dell Streak 2 days back, shipping is on 9th Feb (in worst case scenario). Thanks a lot to Sushant for helping me here. I used aramex, also avoid buying anything else from dell, as the shipping days with any other product bought with dell streak will be different, something which I learned the hard way :(

Finally my device got shipped and will be reaching the Aramex US address in two days time. Let us see how long does Aramex takes for this thing to be delivered at my doorstep.

Also at the moment I don't know what will be the custom charges as well as the Aramex international shipping charged. The fedex website has mentioned the shipping weight as 2.0 lbs/.9 kg so I hope I'll have to pay 12USD :P

Can't wait. And time to order the Otterbox case too.

Wow...congrats...I will wait till you get this piece in your hand and confirm whether 3G works or not :)

Damn, the packet landed at the Aramex US office and they sent me an email that they've received the package. Not sure when will they ship it now.

It seems that I can expect to get the phone in my hands in less than 10 days time.
