I contacted aramex's shop & ship service and they said customs will be around 15% of the customs assessed value and the service tax on shipping is 10.3%. so even after you add custom and shipping charges, the final price would turn out to be much cheaper. Plus, if anybody has relatives from from US, then these charges can be avoided as well. Further I have confirmed with Dell US rep, they will accept International CCs for payment.

The customs on phones is just 1.3%, so if you ask aramex shop and ship to mark it as a phone then you can save a lot on the customs.
 
BTW, the US address given by Aramex is "NY".

NY has the maximum tax.

If your delivery address is NY, the tax is going to be US$ 35-36 for this product. It is less for Ohio given by borderlinx. There are other states which have even lesser taxes.
 
I got a quote from ICC Worldwide for 22939/- inclusive of everything shipped to Mumbai ! Seems like a good deal :)

Unless Dell has done this as they might launch Dell Streak 2 at CES2011.

Hold your horses folks, the Dell Streak has gone for a price cut a few weeks back in the US to $400. It is a matter of a few months before the same happens in India. Remember that such a big price cut usually happens when a new model is coming out.

I was also very interested in the streak before I bought the Galaxy S, I came to know froma internal source that apparently the screen crack problem is a lot worse that it looks like on the internet. Search on the net for Dell streaks where the screen cracks, Dell offers absolutely no support or repair for this.
 
O man now that has scared. I even managed to found a contact in the US to get me this and now I am hearing this screen crack problem.

Any concrete links that showcase this problem ?

Yep i have good feeling they will launch an updated Streak at CES. The Steak 7 has been confirmed to launch at CES, maybe a new 5 might launch too.

Yep we should hopefully see a price drop here as well. It was selling for $580 unlocked i think, so a $180 price drop. Going by the US price, the price should drop by ~9-10k here
