Video-downloader for non-youtube sites

FF+VDH is not working for me. So had to use MassTube. I have no intention of using IDM - I prefer FF with VDH+DTM. I think IDM is not free.

@raksrules, First I'd request you to try to download these linked videos in a normal way as you used to download after reaching your home, if it fails then install this HTML5 Video for YouTube chrome extension (I'm assuming that you use Chrome, if you don't then please do so for this experiment atleast). I also use flashblock but that purely depends on your taste (I don't like auto playing of youtube videos) so basically your youtube page should look something like this (You don't need to do anything with the extension after installing it, I think it replaces the default youtube player with html5 or something which enables the IDM to download the video stream...)

Do let me know the outcome :)

I use flashblock but only on firefox and i use youtube in chrome as in my PC for some really weird reason, youtube in chrome occupies entire bandwidth available but FF does not. No idea why.

YOU broadband 1 Mbps. The thing is that Youtube only takes around 1/3rd of available bandwidth while streaming which essentially means i cannot stream anything without it stuttering / buffering. Sometimes i takes entire b/w but most of the times does not. Confusing.

Nope, did not try. I do limited /no laptop work at home after office. It is mostly iPad which i use for basic browsing. Will try sometime soon.

I used to use a desktop software that could even do playlists. One of the top downloaders. But it sometimes terminated downloads in between. Something htats a problem with every other downloader out there except the ones on my phone. Wonder why.

Update: I was able to download the videos i wanted, all around 500 MB in size, downloaded around 12 videos using keepvid + IDM, works perfect and super fast (consumes entire bandwidth of 1 Mbps).
