Sorry, just my OCD kicking in :clown:

The write speeds on the 980 Pro are supposed to be 5000 and 6900 for the 990 Pro.

I bought one SN770 1TB from the first listing and received it yesterday (02Apr25).
CDI SMART report is exactly as shared on WhatsApp before finalising the deal.

According to WD datasheet as well as on many other sites, the rated sequential Read/Write speeds are 5150/4900 MB/s respectively, not 4200/4000 as in the OP's follow-up listing in post #61 above. Maybe the OP's reference site got it wrong. In any case, the unit I received slightly exceeds the manufacturer's ratings.

The OP was very responsive and co-operative throughout the deal. All in all, a very satisfactory deal.

All of these are m.2 NVME SSDs

Yes
You can put a Gen4 NVME in a Gen3 slot -> Result : Gen3 speeds
You can also put a Gen3 NVME in a Gen4 Slot -> Result : Gen3 speeds

I have the same config on my pc - gen4 slot and gen3 nvme (secondary)
and it works flawlessly

All safe to use
idk about hynix and toshiba but rest are m.2 and nvme
All mentioned units are NVME
Gen 4 in gen 3 slot will not always work, recently tested a gen 4 nvme in gen3 of b450 steel legend no detection but works great in 570 so only buy matching nvme.
Should not have created issues, as I've done this on many client builds, it works fine
Yes - ASROCK boards are too complicated. After a bios update, 1st gen Ryzen stopped working on the board (b450 steel legend) , 3200G doesnt work but 3100 does (b550) ((personal exp))

That is because of bios size limitation in earliest versions of B450 series mobos. Because the bios size is limited/fixed, to add support for newer gen processors it is must to remove support of some older gen processors to fit the newer bios within the available space on mobo. It is even mentioned in bios updates like this:

3200G is officially supported on asrock B550 steel legend so if it doesn't work then there should be some issue at your end.

I used both Asrock B550 Steel Legend & B550 Gaming 4 since 2019 as these are excellent mobos. Just wanted a matx mobo so went with the cheapest A520M then in 2023.
