I have also seen him being critical of the judiciary when it was showing some spine against encroachment by the Executive in one of his "Cut the clutter." Perhaps he is trying to remain in the good books of the govt and prevent Vinod Dua type incident.

I still cannot believe the news about the Aarogya App. They even forced travelers and govt workers to have them installed to do their work. Does the govt even know what's going on in the country or do they simply not care anymore? The only thing which could be worse than an extreme-govt is a stupid one. :banghead:
 
Wow!! I am reading this thread after a long long time.
And I'm not scared of Modi and sons anymore as they can't touch me or harm anyone related to me in India anymore ( as none exists!!)
The question with which this thread started months back, still remained unanswered.
Other than growing his disgusting beard longer and even more gross, he has done nothing.
I know for a fact that ICMR has stopped providing the serial numbers for each and every RT-PCRs done ( it has become optional) and no one has the slightest idea about true daily new cases.
We didn't see 1. The promised Rs 21 RT-PCR kit 2. Not a single prototype of newly designed ventilator. 3. Not a single article yet from India which could conclusively show any prophylactic or therapeutic benefit of HCQS 4. Vaccine ( this is the funniest thing, people are still hoping for a vaccine and newspapers are quoting clinicians, virologists for vaccine development. I can bet, none of these people remember the basics of immunology)
Almost all the nations failed against this virus, but most at least tried to save the economy. But India somehow managed to top both the failures simultaneously.

I can give you one anecdote as an example, from the state of Kerala. They ramped up testing to almost 80-90k per day. And lo and behold, the daily positive cases skyrocketed to one of the highest in the country, beating Maharashtra.

So what did they do? Simble. Reduced testing by 30k or something. And correspondingly, the positive cases also dropped. Now everything's nice and quiet again. People dying? Who knows/cares...

Pretty sure this is the same in other states and the center as well.

Once again, the powers that be have figured out how to manipulate facts, figures and stats to show themselves in a good light. And the gullible sheep just lap it up.
 
Can anyone please explain, what exactly happened in Kerala?
Our media blamed some festival like Durga Puja of Bengal ( I'm really sorry, never had a chance to explore India growing up, so don't remember the name) in Kerala for the sudden rapid spike after spike.
Epidemiologically, what happened there was not a medical failure, but an administrative one. These kind of things happen to the African countries and usually carry the worst prognosis with highest mortality.
It's like having a sudden wave after wave of cases in Prague ( which escaped with minimal damage during the worst time in Europe)...if this happens here, the mortality rate would be unimaginable. As a smaller and weaker country compared to something like Germany, our approach was different ( of course it was not like blanket nationwide lockdown, rather sealing off our borders COMPLETELY for 24 days and allowing smaller local businesses- even non essentials to run along with some public transport) though our healthcare system is pretty strong and completely free for all legal citizens our leaders and some doctors in administration didn't want to fight it like Germany or Netherlands ( there healthcare system is really really solid and miles ahead of NHS- which is possibly the weakest in Europe now)
We are possibly the most vulnerable nation in EU right now against the second wave.
 
I don't know if you guys know about this and I don't know if you will believe me but hear me out.
There are two types of covid cases in India: genuine cases and false cases. The latter is more prevalent in more corrupt states. The reason is to get more covid funds from the Centre. My state was originally a green zone for a quite a long time. Then cases suddenly started rising rapidly. All coughs were treated as covid cases and almost all deaths are now treated as covid deaths. For example if someone dies from a kidney failure or another body illness it will be treated as covid death. This is proven by the fact that different hospital tests have shown different results. People don't take two different tests due to the financial reasons but some people secretly did this. Only one of them was reported in the media. Covid patients are treated with vitamins and limcee (hospitals bought out all limcee stock in the state lol. I personally went to confirm this from major chemist distributors.) and some biscuits. Patients get discharged after 14 days whether he is cured or not. And also given some cash (amounting to some 5k) to hush them up. Also one private hospital here committed a silly blunder. One patient was reported to have died in this hospital from covid (also confirmed by the hospital itself) but no SoP was followed even after that. The daily duty resumed as normal. Normally the whole hospital would've been turned into a containment zone and everyone properly tested. None of these were done.
Now about the huge finances involved, my state govt has withdrawn out about 100 crore rupees from covid funds. Source is an insider govt official (I'm an ex-journo remember). The funds are apparently shared between hospital administrations. Now another state Meghalaya which has about half the cases is said to have withdrawn about 500 crore rupees. This is why many people go to the extreme length of saying covid doesn't exist in some of our states. Its stupid yes but when the govt is so corrupt what are they supposed to even believe? I don't know about other states. I'm sharing from whats happening around me.
This is not a rumor or fake news.
The media here is also somewhat controlled by the govt (thanks to govt advertising funds) so the criticism on the poor governance is very rare. If you say something which pisses off the govt you will get arrested under sedition charges. Online comments are also being watched by the govt IT cell/volunteers and reported to local authorities as necessary. Many have been arrested. BJP govt in a nutshell.
Now I'm not saying that other states in general and Kerala in particular have false cases. I'm saying the covid funds from the centre might have something to do with the rapid covid cases in the entire country whether they are genuine or false.

It sounds absolutely absurd but i will believe it 100%. Our country is a nuclear superpower facade, but the corruption and malpractice can beat even some 3rd world african etc. countries.

And I have experienced first hand the looting/fleecing even for something as trivial as Vit C chewable tablets.

And media control by the govt. is nothing new or BJP exclusive. I learnt this following TOI coverage of the monorail testing (pet project of lalu etc.) in goa. After the accident, there was virtually nothing about it. Not to mention incidents like khairlanji and what happened to sabrina buckwalter who covered it. But bjp is an even more special kind of evil, taking everything to unbelievable extremes.

I would put it on par with or even worse than the delhi 'nirbhaya' incident, because while that was 'just' a 'boys being boys' incident, this one was deliberately malicious. Unimaginable and inhuman. And while the ruling govt. of the time may have been different, it was the same extremist right-wing terrorists perpetrating it. Nothing has really changed except things are just far more brazen these days.

Raping foreigners ( if they are unfortunately white) is an established subculture in India. I have proof of this.
They are not even safe in police station. Even most African countries are safer for white women.
A big section of illiterate Indians think of all white women as porn actors!! I've heard it with my own ears!!
 
Honestly speaking I like to avoid those kind of news as much as possible now. Negative news make me rage a lot and I hate the fact that we can't change people's mentality for the better.

These words would be music to my uncle's ears. He said this around 2 months back and I kind of ignored it cause it seemed too absurd that any Govt would go to this level. But then given their track record and the state of affairs our country is in, I won't be surprised.
