Yes. It is the online offer mega pack. There isn't much option there. I get 28 HD channels with an assurance of HD channel addition if it happens for no extra cost except for ppv channels.

Update :apparently they have manpower issues in our locality. So had to switch to tata sky.
Booked online for ₹6180, used the existing wiring for videocon.
They did a small goofup. Gave me a stb registered to some other customer. Hence activation took time because they had to replace that stb registered for me.
After that service feels good. HD channels appear smoother with frame rates than videocon.
Also newer remotes from tata sky are universal remotes. So felt like an upgrade.
So far happy with the switch.
Getting more HD channels than videocon barring ten network which I can manage via YouTube. Don't think would need to pay for the ten channel bundle.
For upgrading my existing SD connection to HD, i have been asked to cough up 1500 which includes one year of FREE HD ACCESS.
Lucrative deal i guess.

How much is your yearly package normally with HD channels. They have recently raised the HD access fees to ₹175 pm.
See if it's feasible to get a new connection online.
Edit : didn't read the free HD access part . So looks good then.
I was getting discounted packs from the last 18 months but they've stopped recently, I got a retention team call today promising i would get a discounted pack provided i keep my connection running. Let's see.
Also since installation is free for customers upgrading to the HD connection, I am planning to change the Dish meanwhile without wasting money on installation again separately .

Not anymore for videocon. Dish is the leader of the pack. With tata sky having more useful HD channels than videocon. Same with USB recording. It's available for tata sky too now.

Newer stb has usb recording option. Plus videocon doesn't have till last I checked comedy central HD , fx HD, movies now HD, zee cafe HD, & tv HD, Epic HD And ppv channels from hbo.

does anybody here use a cable TV - like Hathway, DEN or IN Cable ? Putting up an dish on my building roof is a hassle and if I ever have signal problems with rain, etc.. it will be a big pain to go and fix it.

Coz the money collector in my area died and since then nobody came to collect money. Even ppl in my bldg and adjoining bldgs watch free for long time.
Then some of thems card was disconnected and when they went to inquire they had to pay pending dues and charges and got ****ed.
And somebody was paying for my account dont know why and how and if there was any duplicate issued.
I played more trick and extended for 3 more months and finally shifted to Tata sky.

So I had opted to continue with Airtel and had chosen their base pack and HD Plus Add-on which gave me all the HD channels Airtel had to offer. Total was coming to 457 pm.
I bought the VU 40 LED in Flipkart's sale and was gonna go for a multi-room connection with Airtel but their terms state that only the base pack will be mirrored and I will have to pay for the Add-on fees for each STB I use. This meant I would have to pay same amount for my second STB as well.
Hence, I decided to switch to Videocon where not only I will be getting more SD and HD channels but also it will still be cheaper per month. I opted for the Platinum HD pack. After deducting the STB cost, it comes to 760 per month for both TVs and I get all the channels they have to offer.

Are you talking about TataSky HD+ or normal HD? Don't think normal HD STBs have recording, even the website doesn't mention this.

well it has a spare usb port.
i prefer watching tv series via torrents than watching them with all the ads hence didnt bother with asking for usb recording option.
earlier i had videocon DTH STB which too had a spare usb port , with further software updates, they enabled usb recording on it.
just FYI when videocon d2h had enabled video recording, i had tried it once.
the drawback with usb recording is, that simultaneous watching other shows when recording is on is limited.
you can only watch those channels who are on the same transponder as the channels you have set for recording.
