Which one's better?? HD 4870 or HD5770

Yeah it's a OC (albeit slightly) version of the card. More importantly it has Sapphire's proprietary Vapor X cooling technology leading to better cooling and more OCing headroom.

where??? the difference should be 1-2K, now why will ATI make 5830, if the difference was just of 4$ between 30 and 50 :/

I know I thought the exactly same thing..!!!:mad::mad: I rechecked with the dealer on SP road, he quoted 15.8k for 5830 and 16k for 5850:rofl:

btw ideal power consumption of 5830 is little more than 5850, donno why..:huh::S

Coz thats based on the HD5870 i guess. It was derived from that just by reducing the no. of shaders etc... They kept the same die IIRC... HD5830 is not VFM at all.

^^ ya they have disabled 3 shader units in it but whats the point of having it if it's gonna take little more power and cost just 200 bucks less than 5850. what marketing..!!

Newegg.com - HD5850

Newegg.com - HD5830

Powercolor HD5830 ~ $230 --> Price here 14.5-15k (Should have been 11.5-12.5k).
XFX HD5830 ~ $240 (has some MIR too)
XFX HD5850 ~ $310 --> Price here is Rs.15,500

These are the cheapest cards among the HD5830 and HD5850. So its not ATI's fault for the pricing here. But we all know who's fault it is for the price difference so narrow/ HD5830 priced too high. ;) :p There is clear $50-70 difference between the cards in the US market.

^^ ok thanks for correcting me. :) but will it deliver 570W for 3-4 hrs of continuous gaming ??

Dude, ur GFX card consumes that much power only at FURMARK peak..

while gaming, power consumption is about 50W lower, like only 110W for the HD5850...and if u undervolt it... it's a different story altogether

Hey how are the BioStar GPU's?

In the dealers thread there are the 5 series Radeon and the NVIDIA GTS 250 but their all BioStar. Is that good enough?

Why do you just see vfm? Get the one which suits your needs. Actually 5850 offers more vfm than those 2, but it may be an overkill. So, the choice purely depends on your gaming needs. Mention the resolution you're going to game at, the games which you play etc. Without those data, answering your question will be meaningless.
