A quick warning about Lynx.

I've been waiting about 90 days for an order of mine to ship. The first part of the order shipped on time, very efficient service, and I also got a nice upsell on a graphics card as the one I wanted wasn't available.

However there's been no attention on the balance as the pending items are (till date) out of stock. And the vendor confirmed that they were indeed in stock when I placed the order, so I did check. And the refund has not yet happened either.

Amarbir is a good guy, but his enthusiasm for getting the deal is marred by the inefficiencies of his back office. Just ensure that the items are ready to ship, if required quote my case.

Amarbir,

I'll say my feedback is fair. I did mention the good deeds on the card and the first shipment, which came quickly.

But you'll understand that there was really a long delay, with absolutely no communication from your end. Had you told me about the 8 broken fans (which you chose not to till this post), I would have borne with you a little longer, no problem. Fact is that for me, you disappeared. And the uncertainty of whether I would get my goods or money was very high. Remember this was my first transaction with you - I have no basis to trust or distrust you.

Your not being active on the forum is really not my problem as a buyer, you had my email and cellphone numbers with your online order. You were holding my order for nearly three months (I'm not sure why I even waited that long to push you into refunding that money - ask a single buyer on TE whether they would have had as much patience), and it's your responsibility to communicate status to me at all times. You can't go silent. Every single conversation we've had after the first shipment happened, has been initiated by me - you've not bothered to call or email me, not even about the refund, for which I had to PM you.

I still think I would order from you again, but I think this feedback was needed because the handling of the second part of this order was not up to scratch. I also run a business my friend, and any delays have to be communicated from our end to the client first, before the client asks. That is a fundamental of a good client relationship, and I didn't see you doing it. That's not good business sense, and it makes clients and customers uncertain of your integrity, even if you're efficient and reliable.

The thing I wondered most about was that you actually confirmed to me that every single thing I ordered, with quantities, was indeed in stock (you may not remember, but you did reply to my PM saying so). And some of the items were not in stock. What am I supposed to make of that?

I've been derailing too many threads these days, guess my mood is very feisty. I will request you to not post back, but let's continue this on PM if need be. As it is, I'd like this conversation to end, and my money to reach me. It's already too far OT.

sorry transcend 2gb ddr2 667 for 1850

For parts that could need replacement for incompatibility reasons, I would prefer to buy from a local dealer, even at a little more money. It helps in the long run, saves possible shipping costs and debates.

Well ,

You Should Have Asked Here When In question Was One Of Your Dealer Friends ,If a Post Was Against You i Would Have Never Commented Like This ,I Am Very Deeply Hurt ,Thats What I Will Say .

Just an advice, if your doing a deal through a forum (TE for that matter) make sure you save your PM and all. If it goes bad for some reason, these could help you out. Good thing about dealing via forums is that if someone plays funny with you and pushes your patience, people will be cautious with that dealer and hence damage his sale. If the dealer is ethical and smart enough, he will try to prevent that- or else will get a negative feedback.

sorcy, I don't think there are any dealers here that are not ethical or well-meaning, but each has their own issues. I know that not even one of my purchases has been totally without issues. But we are programmed to solve issues.

I've got ripped off big-time by a seller (not on a forum, but on ebay), but in all my deals here (including the one with Amarbir), I've assumed the safety of getting my money, and I've not been cheated. Touch wood.

In fact the comment about Lynx was on their communication or lack of it, not their overall ethics, which I don't doubt. If you look at what I said, it was that you need to be really sure that the items you order are ready to ship. In the internet age when payments happen in three days, the product should not take more than a week, or else we feel that we could walked across to our neighborhood shop and got something that could easily have worked for us.

A dealer here lost out on a 4870X2 order after I paid for it, so he refunded me the money in ten days flat, from placing the order, to him figuring out his distri was just taking B2B orders, to the refund being credited. And at every step, we were literally talking twice a day. That is service. I still didn't get what I wanted, but I felt safe and assured. And Techshop shipped me a Solo (albeit at a higher price than I could have got it two weeks later, but I needed it then), actually two of them after the first one was found defective, in a week. Even Amarbir - I got the first part of the order in two or three days after placing it.

I usually only order what I can't get locally through TE. I've found it makes more sense to buy complex bits offline as RMA/returns are simpler for me, but Techshop delivers and sometimes picks up (not couriers) from home, so I'm usually fine paying a little more there (and yes, some of the prices vary across sites, so pricematching is critical) if required.

As for Amarbir, I'm not through with him - he's the only guy I know of in the country selling pro audio at decent prices online, so future business is not an issue, but I do need to figure out the ability to stock and ship as he would be foolish to keep the stock himself, and he also depends on distris. Which is why I think the feedback is necessary and good, it's nothing to get hurt about. Feedback is the only way a business improves.

I meant about ANY dealers at ANY forums. There are many tech forums that you find dealers selling and making group orders....
