China has been known to be a data manipulator. A recent addition of GDP by province exceeded the GDP reported by whole of China. A number of Chinese reverse mergers have proven to be over reporting the demands and are actually scams. A recent look at their infrastructure showed many ghost towns, complexes built with no one to live. They are propping up prices with the help of inventory stuffing.
The only thing which works in favor of Chinese government is absolute control on the media. So no one can really question them or their data. For all the faults of our politicians I think we will fare worse under the Chinese. For all the grass being greener on the other side this is something I dont really agree with.

Its funny how the media spins it as if we're the aggrieved party. Start reading the inside sections of your newspaper to get a more balanced coverage.

This is a nothing incident, watch it disappear after the Chinese premier's visit. He's new at the job, he needs to show the folks back at home he can deliver. This whole episode is designed to make him look good.

Remember Kargil?
I am pretty sure the current govt would not have done anything, if it was in power then. They would have said some words and would have let the neighbors occupy land.
Vajpayee had guts that current PM never had. A fantastic orator in contrast to the current PM.
All those economic sanctions against india when conducting those nuclear tests. The current PM would have succumbed to external pressure as usual and would not have gone ahead. Vajpayee did not stop the testing knowing he would be condemmed and would face big economic sanctions.
