Graphic Cards X850XT or 6800gs?

Well rahul if you check your very own thread(Tomshardware yea right :P) then you will know that X850 XT PE leads way up 6800 GT... And dude... its not about sale.. Its about facts... And the fact is X850 XT PE will own a 6800 GT/GS anyday... Let it sheer speed or IQ... It will OWN... PERIOD :)...

Btw No Offence Meant... And i posted that link as it has got a 6800 GS review... I will try to link up Anandtech's 6800 GS review too :)...

Edit There we go... At's review... bad it does not have 850 but it does have 6800 GT which we all know is slower then the 850 any given day... rest the results speak... http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2593&p=1

^^ maybe u willl like to have a X850XT but i willl prefer 6800GS over it any day ..... coz these day SM3 and HDR are really becoming a norm and u willl start cursing urself if u can't play a game with all eye candy on ...... maybe i willl prefer a X850XT but if i had a budget of 6600GT but that me ......

i know 6800GT was never meant to complete with X850XT ..... it was X800XT but still y i willll suggest anyone a card which is already absolute ....

well i dunno bout yall :bleh: my personal opinion is x850xt pe over 6800gs but if it was me right now i wouldnt have bought a 68xx series straight tht 78xx b**ch ;) but i personally think x850xt pe is really faster than 6800gs .. but it might change if i sau its a 6800ultra ;)

well its better than 6200tc ..it wontgive u any respectable frmrates 4 games but iw ill give u everything xcept gaming.

Yes paper features are very good for show-off  but sadly lack the punch in real life scenarios. Sm 3.0 on 6xxx series is good for show and nothing else. Another vote for the x850xt...............

@x86: no offence mate but you rarely make sense these days............

Hey Params....

Forget all this. Why get confused :P ??

Go for the evga 7800GT Switch is selling for 16.5K. Better than any damn card :P

PM switch and request him to keep it on hold for you till you are able to confirm.....

care to tell in which game 6800GT/ultra/gs have performance which is not playable .....

7800GT @ 16k seems the best deal ..... go for it eyes closed :)

well i guess its becoz i barely get time .. and yea i know i rarely make sense these days on my right upper corner i can see "i'm mysterious" by that green bar.:) :S

@switch > its true i agree ati's iq quality is better i mean best among two.

Check out Splinter Cell 3 sm 3.0 performance the card runs it barely @ 30 fps, Check out Farcry's fp16 hdr performance the min fps falls easily to 20s. Hell when i had the ultra i never used to enable fp10 HDR in Counter strike Source for the fear of min fps falling way too low. This is from experience rahul. ;)

Ofcourse if params can afford to spend 16.5k then he should go for the 7800gt.

Btw since you mention toms let me use their benchies as well :P though personally i think the sites a joke

http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/02/02/nvidia_7800gs_confirms_agp_aint_dead_yet/page7.html

Even the 7800gs just abt ties the x850xt, the 6800 ultra is getting beat in almost everything except ogl.

if u think tomshardware is a joke then dream on lol ......

can u please provide any link for splinter cell performance ...... or any other source for ur given FPS and wat resolution u are talking about ......

Hmmm... There you go

3D Performance with Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory High-end cards

When all cards are running at equal levels (which is only possible in the 1.1 shader mode) ATI has the performance advantage over NVIDIA in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. The RADEON X850 XT Platinum Edition and X850 XT both outperform GeForce 6800 Ultra, while the RADEON X800 XL outperforms GeForce 6800 GT, actually running neck-and-neck with the GeForce 6800 Ultra in most cases we tested under.

Of course, no self respecting GeForce 6800 owner would run Chaos Theory in the 1.1 shader mode, as Ubisoft has implemented performance enhancements in the 3.0 mode. The performance improvements werent as great as what we saw with Far Cry last year, we witnessed performance gains of between 5-8% in our testing, with the final result varying based on screen resolution used and the AA/AF level applied. This wouldnt have been enough for the GeForce 6800 Ultra to overtake the X850 XT PE, or the 6800 GT to outpace the X800 XL in any of our tests involving some combination of 4xAA, but it does close the gap somewhat.

OT: Masky... Where the hell are you these days man...

masky no offence but link given by u is a joke ..... first of all in the SM3.0 test they have X850XT .... AFAIK X850XT doesn't have SM3.0 support ......

and in Splinter Cell Chaos Theory @ 1024 x 768 (SM3.0+)

6800GT is around 22 FPS and with

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory @ 2048 x 1536 (SM3.0)

6800GT is around 48FPS

in the most wanted case 6800GT is giving respectable performance @ 1024x768 ....... and in 1600x1200 6800GT is 22FPS where X850Xt is 26 FSP ..... as MW is a racing game both are playable ....

and u can't compare two cards like that one on SM3.0 and one on SM2.0 .... its obvious that card running on SM3.0 will be getting low FPS :)

PS: C'on someone help me out here ..... all are ati fanatics J/K

@ switch .... u missed something

Clearly we can see the greater intensity HDR lighting brings to Chaos Theory. In the second batch of shots you can see Sam’s cheekbones more clearly as the green hue of light from Sam’s IR goggles shines on his face. Images 15 and 16 show clear differences as well.

Knowing this, the final question we had was if 3.0 shaders produce lighting superior to 1.1 shaders or not:

In the image above you can clearly see that in the 3.0 shader mode, the light is brighter than when running in 1.1 mode.

To chk out the images click here

and in the same review u posted 6800GT have playable performace with 1280x1024 with 4xAA and 8xAF with SM3.0

some more

Until then though, the high-end GeForce 6800 cards are arguably the better solution for Chaos Theory, simply because they provide more display options. If you want the fastest Chaos Theory card though, ATI’s RADEON X850 XT Platinum Edition should be the card for you.

In nutshelll ATI > nVIDIA... Let the flames begiun :)...

if are all ATi fanatics that doesn't mean that ATi>nvidia :P

and i don't have to say anything just looks at the nos of ATi cards and Nvidia cards here .....

no offence to anyone .......

no offence taken.. i aint no graphics wh0re.. so spare my limited/nil knowledge on the latest techs.. from what i see, the only reason for the difference in FPS is b'coz one is SM3.0 and another is SM3.0+.. not sure what the big deal is between the two though :P

But then again, when u compare FPS for SM3.0 at different resolutions and for SM3.0+ at different resolutions, the FPS is dropping as resolution goes up, which is normal..

Thats because the presence of nVidia rahul... Just that... If ATI was as widely available as nVIDIA then you would have been on ATI for sure ;)...
