Review Your Experience with OLX/Quikr?

Pretty common. That is why I put a fake iPhone ad for such stupid people who don't bother to read the ad.

Shows what type of dumb-asses (not all) are reading OLX. It is a flea-market potentially. I sold a water dispenser last weekend. I was quite surprised to see the demand for it. I put it on hold for one person, and a secondary person was quite annoyed with this. He said OLX is "first come first served" basis, or something. I was like what the heck, I can sell to who ever I want..!

I have seen people selling iPhone 5S 64GB Unlocked for 20 -30k, are those phones genuine or is this just a scam?

Scam. Few rules to remember:

1. If the price is unbelievably low and the ad does not list users phone number, it is most likely a scam. I had sent a message to one of these guys asking for more details, they replied asking me to fill a form with my personal details. Point proven.
2. If the price is unbelievably low and the ad DOES list a phone number, it could still be a scam in the sense user might be selling fake/stolen goods. Case in point, Korean Versions of Note 3.
3. If the price is reasonable (within + or - 15% of the market value) and the ad lists a phone number, it is likely to be genuine. Some people are apprehensive about putting their phone number on OLX. Not saying ads that do not have a phone number are all scam, but you will find more genuine sellers with a phone number on the ad listing than without the number.

Anyone facing problem posting Ads on OLX. All of my ads have been pending since 8 A.M. in the morning. It normally takes about an hour.[DOUBLEPOST=1395507486][/DOUBLEPOST]@raksrules ?

It's 3-6 hours at max. In case it's not appearing, do some minor modifications, re-post it. By mistake I contacted their CC as my ad was showing as pending, the CC rep got back after 3 days, and by that time the ad was live.

I tried modifying the ad but that did not help. It normally does not take more than an hour for me. Wonder what is wrong. Already shot a mail to their CC. Can you post a dummy ad and see if you've got the same problem?

Ok, will check and reply
Just checked their Facebook page and the issue seems rampant. Do check & post back.[DOUBLEPOST=1395563794][/DOUBLEPOST]

No response from OLX despite repeated messages on Facebook and emails. Wish it was a paid. At least they would have had a proper customer care.

There are companies from US and UK selling Alienwares for cheap. Are they even legit? They only display their Skype id. I had a chat with them and they do have many Alienware laptops. 36k for an Alienware 18 with i7 and 780m was too good to be true

One more experience, pleasant one. Sold my Macbook Air 13 - 2009 model for a satisfactory price. I got one lowball and rest were legit queries. Also to whom I dealt with finally also seems to be very good person. It's rare that you find very good stranger :P

My experiences have been good too on both these platforms

I sold me cellphone 2 yrs back and it was easy to get a descent buyer but only if your product is that attractive.

That idiot kept bargaining even after meeting even thought we had zeroed down a on a final amount and I have to reduce a bit of amount again but still had a fair deal as my phone was a bit faulty as the battery use to rundown in no time but I had already mentioned that bold and clear in my ad.
After the deal I clearly mentioned that from now onwards I'm not responsible for anything as you have put me in considerable loss! And he agreed too.

Then he called me after 2 days crying that he bought a new battery but same issue persists, and I clearly mentioned that if you ever agreed to my amount and conditions and didnt bargained like a fish market, I would have happily given you a testing warranty and have refunded you. Now that you got it at your cheapo price be happy and repair yourselves. Btw he was a sardar studying in MMK college, Mumbai.

Bro they are all fake and they will tell you that you have to transfer the amount to their company's name or whatever and they will make you feel like they are standing near you and making this deal and as soon as you pay them then your hard earned money will be gone. Its a request to you as you are a friend that don't ever fall in their trap. And many ads you will see with the names like Peter, Roland, Derek,Thomson bla bla bla but again saying don't pay as olx and quickr is safe if you have a hand to hand deal.
