Your Experience with OLX/Quikr?

alright. will try that. but i also feel that the lack of response might be due to the fact that the products that i have listed are not so commonplace, or not likely to be searched by the masses on olx/quikr, for eg, 3D glasses, a TV tuner card, etc. there are not many such products listed there, and for someone on the look-out for these things, my ads would be readily visible to him i presume. may be if i put ads for things like a tab, cellphone, microwave oven, or a DVD-writer, or any such 'usual' stuff, those might garner some requests and responses, silly or otherwise. :)

Most times all I get are ridiculously low offers.

For eg, i was selling a sealed gaming mouse for 1.5k below flipkart price, and lo i get offers of 1-2k for the product.. People begging me etc etc..

Same here. People quoting ridiculous price. But cannot blame them. They are just taking their chances. They have nothing to lose. Anyways probably none of us are selling any rare commodities so they know if not my then someone else's listing.
But still i would say with olx / quikr we have got opportunity to sell our stuff which may be many a times difficult to get sold through forums and such.

Olx seems to have started something new, on the listing pictures, it sort of checks ebay etc for similar product to find if the same product is available anywhere else on the internet.
Is it coming for others as well ?

and this is happening while in the process of creating and posting an ad?

I had the Hola Unblocker installed as addon on firefox and that was putting this unnecessary feature and it does this on many websites, not only olx. Disabled the add on and now it is not there.

first time posted an ad on olx for selling my nokia c6-00, available location noida
and mentioned that I am not interested to courier.
received one call immediately from jhansi in 10mins asking for phone.

What care should be taken for selling the phone, I mean phone has got IMEI number and all,
should we take some signature of the buyer for proof that this phone is sold like that? and should I request copy of ID?

Update: Got more than 25 Calls till now for my iPhone sale. I even got call from Quikr office saying that why have I not listed my ad of iPhone on quikr and only on Olx. I told him to read entire ad. :p

@mymatl

Do not ship the phone. Just deal locally. And yes since it is a phone, i strongly suggest, you exchange some Id proof xerox. May be make a kaccha receipt saying that you have sold the phone model <xyz> with IMEI <1234> to Mr. XYZ. Take both signatures. May be make that clear in the ad that you will ask for Id and share yours when dealing.
I recently sold one of my phones to a shop and they too asked for my id xerox.

You will find worst ppl on OLX/Quikr.

I have witnessed a few buyers who just show interest and when I reply them back .. Dont even respond

I have also witnessed ppl that quote soooo low that I feel like punching them :) But then Its a free country . Everyone has the right to quote whatever price they want

I sold a phone on olx yesterday, the buyer after checking the phone tried to pay 500 less than the agreed price , he said he only had this much money , when i refused to sell he paid the balance 500 , now he called me today & said i cheated him by selling a single sim instead of a dual sim , I never told him that the phone was dual sim & he even confirmed that it was a single sim before making payment , dont want any more calls from him . Should have sold it here .

@raksrules thanks a lot for the idea bro, i about to sell my lumia 520 but now ill be asking for an id proof. it will be enough if i take the buyers id proof xerox rite?
Suppose anything bad happens will a kaccha reciept do?

Yes xerox is fine, take a pic with your cell phone too and kachha bill is ok i suppose. At least that will make the buyer think twice in case he has any bad intentions.

I have seen people selling iPhone 5S 64GB Unlocked for 20 -30k, are those phones genuine or is this just a scam?

It is scam. Usually it is not some single piece. It might have pics of like boxes of phones. No proper contact address will be given and may be no phone number.
I have seen such scam ads mostly on quikr than on olx.

People do not read the ads. I put an add "to buy" something, people called/SMS'ed that they want to buy the same from me.
