ADW 'EX', you mean. When it comes to ADW EX vs LPP, it's a matter of personal preference. I have tried both and prefer LPP over the other. The home screen editing in ADW reminds me a lot of TouchWiz and that's not necessarily a good thing for me.

Got samsung 16 GB class 6 for 740 bucks(with free card reader)

Btw, I'm really not seeing what the fuss about MMHMP is all about. It's a slightly better version of the last few nightlies of CM7 in terms of battery life, but far worse when it comes to customisation options. In terms of UI smoothness, I found it to be at par with CM7 and worse than Lewa which is probably the best performing ROM I've used on the Blade.

I'm in a fix now. Do I go back to CM7 (for the customisation options) or Lewa OS (for the speed)? Link2SD doesn't work with Lewa and that's my only gripe with that wonderful ROM.

So its just cm7 vs lewaOS now...

one more thing ...

can anybody confirm permission modification works in lewa OS

i mean Cynagonmod settings>application> permission management

this is another good feature cm has over other custom ROMS..maybe.... if im not wrong

But after trying ICS, CM7 started looking very bland and hence did some customizations to make it look like ICS. Now running CM7 21 jan update + Go launched ex (with ics theme) + Golocker (With ics theme) + Go SMS Pro (with google ui theme) + Exdialer (Dialer similar to that in MIUI). Looks very refreshing.

link please...

im gonna reset the phone...to replace my 8gb card with 16gb..

so should i flash this rom....or wait till cm9 is released...

are the changes/updates worth flashing ?

Am I the only one who likes ADW Lancher ?

Never bothered by any other launcher after picking this up for 5 bucks in December.

No ur not...

i installed go launcher too...

didnt like iit much...

though i miss the running apps tab

Is there and way to replace the recent apps ...which is launched by long press home button with running apps..??

I'm one of the very few who do not like Go Launcher and its baziliion customisation options. Yes, I wish Launcher Pro Plus had some of its features such as renaming shortcuts and changing icons instead of having to use Desktop Visualizer to do the same, but that's about it. It has always left me frustrated with its laggy performance and while I initially (Aug-Sept) attributed this to the lack of horsepower under the Blade's hood, I was baffled when I saw it performing in the same laggy way (compared to ADW EX and LPP) on a Galaxy S Plus and an Incredible S. I gave it a shot for the 3rd time after I flashed MMHMP last weekend but little seems to have been changed. They can have all the customisations in the world that they want to, but as long as its not going to perform smoothly, I'm not going back to Go Launcher EX. The same stands true for Go SMS Pro, Go Keyboard and Go Contacts.

/rant

In fact I've been using Launcher Pro all this while, since over a year and its blazing fast. But just noticed that it's not been updated since over 7 months now and Go Launcher's amazing theming and customization options got me hooked, though the app drawer

isn't as fast a LP. Go contacts indeed is slow, didn't try Go keyboard, but really liked Go SMS Pro, seemed pretty fast to me.

You should install this or Lewa if you want a stable Rom fit for daily usage. This version of CM7 has undervolted kernel for better battery life and option to use MIUI like battery indicator if you wanna.

Yeah . I meant EX . I just like this launcher. I know I may sound a bit bias but this launcher is just perfect to me.

I might try others after reading your views.

Phew. I have a few friends also who used both and they found Go Launcher better.

Planning to give Exdialer a try next.

See last post in page 596. http://android.modaco.com/topic/335328-romgen2cyanogenmod-7-android-237/page__st__11900

Detailed change log is not there though, as now official nighlies are not coming out, these are the latest builds from source by sej7278.

For Gapps, I'm using this version 'gapps-gb-20110828-signed'. After install, it launches market and enables you to install Google apps that you want, it doesn't have apps bundled in it but just the market I think.

When I was on CM7, I used an app called Pre Home (https://market.android.com/details?id=ms.salt.prehome&hl=en) which is a great app switcher (it's also a task killer, but I don't use that feature of it). I don't remember the exact location, but in any CM7 ROM, you have a setting in which you can change the home long press to open an app of your choice. I simply selected Pre Home as the app of my choice.

To be honest, LPP has a larger no. icon and widget theme packs, but I do agree that changing individual icons on LPP is a lot more difficult than on Go Launcher. However, with the help of Desktop Visualizer, it can be achieved. As for the fancy screen transitions, they come at a might cost of performance, which in my books is simply not acceptable.

Here's a MIUI look using LPP and CM7 MIUI theme

Here's the ICS look using the same launcher with the ICS theme for CM7

Flashed this ROM...

improved a lot from cm 7.1 stable (dont know why that was called stable ...had a lot of issues)

the wifi disconnection issue is now gone

the softbuttons patch is very useful

does it include the 2way_recording by default patch or not?

I think it's not included by default. I can't find the option.

The 'Stable' label is given only in the context of Cyanogenmod as a whole, for all devices. It's not Blade specific, so the latest versions will continue to keep fixing bugs and improving. It's only a milestone for users to file bug reports, as you're not allowed to file bug reports for nightlies AFAIK.

Cm 7.1 was very unstable for me when I flashed for the first time , then I flashed again and there was no improvement and I tried again and it became stable .

The main reason i changed was video playback. CM7 restarted randomly when i played a video on HW decoding. will get back on KANG to check if that's fixed or not.

WTH? how is that even possible? did you change anything at all? gapps? and did you flash over or clean flash?

^ This.

Unless you messed up the earlier flashing attempts by not wiping data/dalvik cache, there's no reason why a ROM would act like that.

Weird.

Anyway, I'm thinking of flashing the Ligux ROM very soon. Either that or back to Lewa. I miss its smoothness
