First sign in to your gmail account. You can do that in settings> accounts. Then access the market.

And in modaco, check the first 5 to 6 posts in every sub forum, they are all guides and tutorials.

I went to 'Absolute Beginners' but could not see any sticky threads there

^^Yes there are ways to get them but that is something we cannot talk here. Btw what is the problem in signing to your gmail account ??

In case you are paranoid, just create another gmail account only for this android phone and then use that login on that phone.

^^nah...i am not paranoid. Just want to have the install files with me:) and obviously I am not planning on wqasting a fortune buying the paid apps... so wanted to know.

PM route is always open dude:)

No point in having the install files with you. You can download it off the market any time you want!

Also no point in having the APKs since they are constantly updated by their developers so eventually what you download will be updated and you will anyway need to download entire file again.

that's the point....i don't have the dandwidth to install everything off net and need to have the downloaded apps stored. we have games of sizes more than 500mb so its a waste of time to download them multiple times for the differnt phones u own.

I do the same for my iphones....i have 2 iphones but I have the same apple id and same ipa files shared b/n the 2 and all of these stored in my hdd:)...easy and convinent

more than that...its about the information....i just wanna know how this can be done....

guys...can anyone gimme links for some tutorials?

^^ have you bought XCD 35 from letsbuy. i bought it from letsbuy and updated to froyo through dell service center. The battery backup is very low. not lasting even a day. Sync, wifi, blutooth, edge are turned on. Brightness set to automatic, and Still. :(

The phone gets heated up when charging and using it. Android assistant shows upto 49 while charging and 40~46 while using it for 30 minutes.

How is your battery backup and is there any heating issues??

The Quadrant test shows a score of 396 :( .

Am really worried about these things.

^^....WOW...So many questions:) I am new to the android scene so sorry but I will not be able to anser ur questions:) but yes ...i got it from letsbuy

to sa=tart with...i am not planning on moving to 2.2...will just try out things in 2.1 first

also, i doubt the battery life would be so low as many ppl are using the ZTE blade and there is no complaints about this as such :)

and BTW: what's quadrant test?

I have been CM7 for sometime. After reading the praises on SS, I thought of giving it a try. Well, it continues to frustrate me. The restore data problem persists. All the apps and phone works if I dont restore the data. If done with data, well there is not much to say. It just disables the phone, some acore process keeps crashing so no phone calls, menus etc.

^ Are u trying to restore data from gingerbread to froyo? Its not a good idea and not recommended. Intact if you use less than 40 to 50 apps, I recommend installing them with app brain or something and not to use restore at all.

While moving from 1 rom to other, I start with a clean slate without resorting apps data n even formatting the mem card. This makes sure that nothing breaks due to restore.

Guys....I am unable to install the applanet.net app from within my xcd35 and get an error 'download unsuccessful'...any idea why this would happen?

Guys I'm facing problems with charging since 2-3 days now. The phone when connected to charger does not charge most times, even if it stays for 4 hrs on charger, no change in battery percentage, though sometimes it charges fine. Now I'm trying to charge from USB port on computer and it's charging fine, though a little slowly as it always is with USB charging. I'm guessing my wall charger is acting up. It could be the ROM but I doubt it, some more testing will confirm if it indeed is the charger.

Can anyone suggest me an alternative charger that's safe to use with this phone but also affordable?

Incase you stay indoor for most of the time (office / college etc) then i suggest you set brightness to levels like 15% or so (it is very much usable in indoors) and when you go out up the brightness. Use the power widget for the same. It is inbuilt so dont need to download anything.

Either use the barcode scanner to scan the QR code on the website or either use the download to pc option from their website and download to pc and transfer to phone, else use browser like opera mini etc and do a download to pc to download APK on phone.

hmm, followed those tips and now my battery lasts to about 40 hrs.

Getting a Quadrant score of only 396 :(

So, even if its a stock rom without the addons, its performing really low compared to these custom roms ?
