How well do the E71/E72 covers fit?
drsingh said:e 71 cover fits nicely but you have to cut some holes for volume, camera and speaker grill.

v.Na5h said:Guys im planing on getting this phone...
My only requirements are it should be able to play xvid (dvdrips 700mb ones) and mainly BoB reenc, minishares x264 480p tv shows and youtube 360p downloaded (not streaming) videos out of the box or with a decent player(by decent i mean decent frame rates w/o frame drops or the buggy bad interface ones)
i currently have 5230 ...which plays xvid but skips a lot of frames when it comes to playing x264 and 360p youtube videos with ucplayer(which is a very buggy app)

When it comes to Android custom ROMs, what I've learned is that the nightlies are usually better than the stable builds in terms of speed, features and even stability, at times. I'm pretty sure that the nightlies which came before 7.1.0 had the proximity sensor calibration settings option, so I don't know why it wouldn't be included in the stable build. You could give GSF a shot. Many users swear by and it is the second most popular custom GB ROM for the Blade.Haste said:hmmm I don't see Device Settings either under settings ?
BTW I'm not using nightlies..i'm on stable cm7.1.0
Also I'm not able to get 2 way call recording working? I've installed some software's, but they say your phone doesn't support it, they can only record my voice..I remember Dell original software was able to do it just fine, but not in cm7..
I'm thinking of switching to ginger stir fry build (based on zte's 2.3.4 build)...any feedback about it? is it better than cm7..
I want a stable build as I won't be updating the s/w very often..
Hi you should try out MMHMP rls 7 or blademix 365 from Modaco. Both excellent roms based on Android 2. 3. 5. Always found Cyanogenmod too laggy and slow.Haste said:hmmm I don't see Device Settings either under settings ?

My Handbrake profile . 800x480 gives me come problems when I look for options inside the player. So i use 720x480.
deathgoddg said:i already replied it runs them. If the bitrate is too low then you might have a problem . Else i run those 200mb~ episode of different TV Shows it works fine even the 700mb DVDrip XVID movies.

piper said:Okay, so I'm looking to buy the XCD35 for my wife, but have lots of queries. They may be already answered but this thread has too many pages (in a really good way). But I need answers sooner so am posting my queries here.
Firstly, usage of phone would be as a general phone with lots of FM/music playback and some video playback too. Net browsing is also an important factor.
Reasons for choosing this phone :
Screen size
Resolution
Availability of custom ROMs (future proofs it to a large extent)
Price (in that price range, I get less than half the screen res on most phones)
My concerns/queries are "how do the following fare on the XCD35) :
Video playback performance? Looking to play regular 360p/480p videos (avi/mp4 format)
FM and music (this is a major major requirement)
General performance keeping in mind low CPU/RAM for the high resolution screen
I'll all but decided for this phone.

Julian said:Video playback isn't one of the blade's strengths. The cpu/gpu combo just can't cut it. Even with whatever players, any x264 video encoded with features more than the baseline profile will not play satisfactorily. 240p videos might play, but nothing more. Recoding to a baseline profile will play anything, even the full 480x800 resolution. And there is no discernible loss in quality on the blade's screen, the video still looks awesome. But if you don't want to go through the recoding hassle and want to play anything directly downloaded, look elsewhere. This is probably my only gripe with the blade, and the reason i'm looking for a faster phone. And even xvid/divx isn't always smooth, whatever player you use, and i've tried all of them.
raksrules said:Music is NOT the greatest strength of this phone so consider that. It is decent but not great.
FM works fine in most open areas for me. But i rarely use though.
Video playback is a hit and miss and you will need some 3rd part player like Mobo player etc.
Yes I have as hes long since given up on getting one for himself. Most likely I am getting a white E72 silicon cover locally or else I'll buy one cheap off ebay.thatsashok said:@RD274 where are you planning to get E71 one ? Better get one locally because i don't find many on Flipkart in stock.
Have you already made your mind on gifting him a Cover for his Blade.
