Any reviews of PPOBox.com or iShopInternational?

I too asked for a quote, they sent me a quote of 31k for 16 gb.

25k item price and local shipping.
International shipping 283.
Customs duty 5100.
 
They are using a conversion rate $1 = 63/- Rest is customs + (discounted) shipping...

With this offer only savings is on shipping fee...
 
ishopinternational is a scam company. They just cheat people to get their money. I have already filed FIR against them and cyber crime investigation people are involved in my case to catch these organised cheater. They have takn money and not fulfilled the order. Now saying me to wait 3-4 months for refund. Better avoid these cheaters. Bank have already started reversal of my payment.

Please elaborate.. In India there is a basic customs duty & a shit-load of additional duties are levied on any product... Here is the list from ShopNShip..

I am not recommending iShopInternational to anyone but I think importing stuff from outside is still quite tricky with so many companies offering this service & there are many disparities, therefore a through discussion should be done (regularly).

Understanding Indian Customs is like decoding a coded message...

You have posted this on as many forums as I'm on..
 
I have only had good experiences with these guys. Thankfully none of my packages got stuck during their audit fiasco.
As many have pointed out before, it seemed that they were running a fraud where they didn't pay the actual duties they charged us. Since the audit they have become a little more expensive but still they are the fastest and cheapest among competing service providers, IMO.

Na , i have purchased phones from them before at 6.5% duty all inclusive , when i sent them a mail asking why 20% , no reply from them.

Customs duty is 6%,counter vailing duty is 1% if applied , if not its 6.5% with vat etc...Ishop are ripping people.
 
They have recently increased their handling charges. Earlier that was a fixed 100 bucks but now since they have to earn legitimately they have increased it to a percentage of the customs duty. Still they somehow work to be cheaper than SNS from what I have heard from them and they have a no fuss system. No need to submit any invoice or anything.
 
How do you guys think the charges should be negotiated... I mean Customs & duties are to be paid in full but I suppose handling & shipping could be negotiated or not..

But you are correct that they charge more in the garb of handling fee.. Its never explained how much.. This fee is added in the customs amount itself...

Cellphones is 6 basic and 1 cvd.

Ishopinternational themselves used to charge me 6+1 earlier.
 
Ask them for custom paid receipt they will never provide u one
i had mailed them thrice for my 6 packages
custom duty is always fishy with ppo

Actually we were discussing for iShopINternational..

But it seems this is the practice followed by all the companies in this business... Which leads to the important question of how to tackle them beforehand...
