no, it's a serious one. i too own a P780, so i am dying to know the answer. :troll:
I think rakesh meant that the speaker volume of his phone is low. So he is unable to hear the other person during the call.
I think the Smartsound option limits the max speaker volume of the phone in some way. There is a feature like this in Nexus 7. Whenever I plug in ear phones, it limits the max volume. I have to manually disable the limit before it allows me to increase the volume any further.

Disabling smart sound will disable the active noise cancelation that the phone uses, it will increase the volume of sound but reduces the clarity, I've personally not found the call volume to be low at all.

^^ how's that possible ? active noise cancellation should affect the sound quality for the other party (non P780 user).

just for the sake of argument, even if active noise cancellation is meant for the P780 user, how does that matter when your other ear is open to all the noises? by the way, your phone won't process the surrounding noise and output the conditioned sound to your earpiece... that's meant for the earpiece of the receiving party (non P780 user).

I had one locally brought, got damaged within 3 months or so.

Now using the phone without cover just matte finish guard, the phone is already heavy, so without cover feels little lighter :D

plan to do the same, how is the durability/ scratch-proofing of the phone?

@babhishek the front is guarded with matte finish , back is metallic (scratch resistance i guess), only the "lenovo" label on back is quite thick and is prone to scratches... At first I was worried but later learn to bit more careful about it.

i am using a matte screen guard (Rs 300) and Nillkin back case (Rs 700). this case is quite sturdy and has already saved my bulky phone on couple of falls. though, it doesn't support the top and bottom portions of the bezel and so far i've been lucky enough to not to drop it at weird angles.

Phew... Last week tried custom ROMs and soft bricked the phone (it went into bootloop)...

Went ahead to service center and told no clue what happened to it !!

Today they returned the phone after changing in motherboard. Working fine...:D
