Ugly - 9/10
Why not 8? because I couldn't find anything wrong in this movie.
Then why not 9?Nobody's perfect. There is no perfect cinema.

But this movie is as real as it gets. All characters more than suffice their roles. You would think that it would be boring to watch Ronit Roy in another role where he is strict and serious, or stiff as a pole(like in Udaan, 2 States etc). But no sir, he was really good. I didn't move an inch from the seat except the one time I really had to go to the bathroom since a human being could hold a full bladder only for so long.
This movie gave me everything what a suspense thriller should be. It's funny in a few places and your sometimes get embarrassed that you feel funny about it. But you move on, since the movie doesn't give you much time to think as the plot is constantly evolving. Anurag Kashyap keeps making you guess what really happened ans I love it when movies do that, but your guesses are thrown out of the window soon. There are scenes which make you really uncomfortable, being Anurag's forte to portray the real world.Note that they are not gruesome, bloody or anything of that sort. They are just scenes which make you uncomfortable because they are so damn close to the everyday life.

I feel bad that I didn't watch this movie in the movie hall. But it was good enough to hold my attention all through it's running time on my 22 inch computer monitor.

This is interesting:

The clip reduces 33 minutes of the end of Unexpected Journey and the beginning of Desolation of Smauginto a 5 min. seamless transition that removes all orcs through the scene as well as uses Gandalf as voiceover to introduce Beorn - keeping in line with far more accuracy to the book.

An actual full edit of the movie to fit within 3hrs.

The story is totally crap. However the action is awesome although the intensity starts to drop off after the insane nightclub action. The climax was totally meh.
Overall a good timepass
I knew going into the movie that there would be no story. These kind of moives typically don't have. But the execution of the movie was flawless. Insane action sequences. Felt like a 3rd person shooter. Superb acting from Keanu too.

Baby - 6/10

-4 for using fake outs to generate suspense. examples "something is happening in the room and when people walk in..voila, everything is in place" x3, car will not start in a tense situation x1, police call out to stop and it turns out they were actually calling someone else x1, ..and many more.

Seriously what happened to the guy who gave us "A Wednesday".

I just wonder how he got the 3rd movie......

Saw the big hitters at the Oscars. Here are my ratings:

Imitation game : Fantastic albeit historically inaccurate portrayal of Alan Turing. Amazing performance by Cumber batch. A few hammy scenes but I am willing to overlook them. 9/10

The theory of everything: Exactly opposite - this one is a very very accurate portrayal. However the screen play and editing were a bit rough and it mostly glossed over the actual science. 8.5/10

American Sniper : This one is all about a soldier's perspective of war and solely based on his view. Decent flick but overrated. 7/10

After Hours - 6/10
Mary Kom - 4/10
She deserves a much better movie. The movie never picked up for me.
Maleficient - 8/10
Now You See Me - 5/10
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty - 5/10
Visually beautiful. But thats that.
Time Lapse - 2/10
Doesn't make much sense to me. Too many loopholes.
Suing the Devil - wtf/10
Horrible. Couldn't finish it. One of the very few movies I couldn't sit through.
This is the End - 7/10
Picks up after the pineapple express 2 short they make. Clearly they had a lot of fun making this one.
