Rate the Last Movie You Saw...

It's been a while since I saw 2 movies in a day but I will do a short review on both. I will review the second movie first.

Jobs (2013)
Only after watching the movie did I see the ratings on RottenTomatoes, Metacritic and IMDB to see if I and my friend are the only ones who didn't like it. This movie came a while back and was a movie that I wanted to see but never got the time and forgot about it. So as we sat scrolling through channels and we saw it we thought why not... Should have kept scrolling
The movie has absolutely nothing to offer that you already don't know infact it shows less than what the average guy in this forum knows. Also if this movie was a homage to Steve Jobs then it was done totally wrong. It depicts Steve Jobs as a back stabbing egotistical demeaning perfectionist jerk. If he was all that then they did a great job.
The movie only focuses on the Apple Story till the part he comes back and takes over the reins. You see Jobs getting ousted and being brought back the very next minute. No mention NeXT or Pixar (NeXT gets a mention in the pitch to the board nothing else).
In short the movie overall is incomplete. Poor pacing, bad script and average acting. An hour long documentary would be more informative than this 2 hours plus movie.

Mission Impossible 5
One of those big budget pop corn movies that promises the world to you generally average. Fortunately not a Michael Bay movie so it delivers as promised the average Pop corn munch flick.
I saw the first 3 a long time back and missed out on the 4th. So I will treat this movie as a standalone movie.
The movie was enjoyable and a good watch but there were some issues (may be I am nitpicking here) that annoyed me a bit.
- I don't remember the first 3 movie attempting to parody itself by overusing the word impossible multiple times and also using the lines (Should you choose to accept).
- Product Placement. I first noticed it with the 3 Dell Monitors which then extended to xBox One. Later on it became very obvious with every car being a BMW and every bike being a BMW. It got so worse that near the end when you see a Mercedes in which I think the antagonist Solomon arrives you notice that Mercedes logo is missing.
- Iron Man sort of started a trend where even in the serious situation they poke fun or sound cocky. That feels odd in this movie because the character was quite serious and restless in the first few movies and so were the movies but the tone in this movie was different. You had an ominous feeling of collateral damage that was missing in this movie it gave you the feeling of everything will be alright no matter what.

Anyways like I said the movie is good and recommended for watching atleast once.

Baahubali - 2/10

Sorely disappointed. Couldn't wait for it to finish.

Some fine actors are wasted (Sathyaraj, Nasser, Rohini and to an extent Ramya). The CGI is way too over done and is blingy mostly. Ooh and aah moments are fine once every now and then but when they ARE close to 80% of the picture, they only induce yawns. It is also too long, has no script to speak of, and tells the story of 3 generations in a single movie. On top of it, there is a conclusion part scheduled for release next year. Should have heeded the advice of a friend who warned against Rajamouli's extravagance killing everything else in his movies.

There is this one scene where the character played by Anushka watches from a distance as the hero jumps down a palace one storey at a time. The camera angle shows her own view. I laughed out loud as that scene reminded me of video games. The next scene itself has a group of soldiers rush into a passageway only to come out of another. I swear to god it reminded me of Prince 1 & 2 games where the titular character makes his way past different levels through those sliding doors.

:hilarious: :hilarious:

The Philadelphia story - 8.2/10
Good old classic BnW movie. Stellar cast, and plenty of good acting (expectedly so when you have Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn, James Stewart, Ruth Hussey all in there).
Very good watch indeed.

678 - 8/10
Deserves a special mention. Seemed like a well made movie while watching.
Has lingered on in the mind even after days of watching it.

Ascenseur pour l'échafaud AKA Elevator to the Gallows - 7.8/10
Very classy, stylish movie.
A good break from the cacophony we keep hearing even in our advertisement these days.

Les Diaboliques AKA Diabolique - 7.9/10
Good murder mystery kinda movie. Kept me guessing till the very end.

Jolly LLB - 7/10
Maybe another decade and our industry people will learn how to bring a story together.
We are getting there.. Surely.. Maybe.

Terminator Genisys - 2/10
Celluloid instance of necrophilia, third time they've dug up the corpse and f**cked it in the ass. Bad convoluted plot, bad cgi, constant throwbacks to the good parts in the series because it doesn't have any substance on its own. Kept watching for brunette khaleesi, avoid !

Avengers AoU - 5/10
Typical TP Marvel fare, the formula is getting a bit boring and stale now. Spader voiceover is spot on but Ultron wasn't quite the menacing villain I expected him to be because of his lines in the movie, felt more like a bad stand-up comedian instead who never posed a threat.

Entourage - 5/10
Felt like a lengthy below average episode of the show, totally unnecessary.

Manjhi : 5/10 : Came out of theater with HUGE respect for the mountain man, but simialr amount of disappointment for the sub par movie on the man. Siddiqui is no doubt gave a phenomenal performance, and there isn't much to complain on acting part from other guys, but IMO the director ruined it. Could have been a far better movie !!!

Very few posts here lately. TE movie watchers on hibernation?
Watched 2 Scorsese classics
Raging Bull - 8/10
Watching De Niro is a delight here. His body language, characterization and all.
Goodfellas - 7/10
Mob movie on the rise of a gangster. Casting is spot-on.

Spirited Away - 2001 : Rated - 6/10
I didn't get it. I didn't get 'The Alchemist - by Paulo Coelho' either. :p
It was just a simple animated movie - i didn't understand the hype.
What am I missing ? Do those characters, like the No-Face guy or even Haku etc, symbolizes anything different/special?

Ex Machina : 8/10
Decent Sci-fi. Naked female robot ..... scary yet sexy. :)

The man from U.N.C.L.E. - 7/10.

Decent movie. It sits in between Kingsman and the current crop of Bond movies. Kingsman was pure fun and the Bond movies have lost all fun nowadays. So this was quite refreshing to watch. Contained good action, suspense and comedy. Worth a watch.

Agree with Ex-Machina. Had heard a lot about spirited away. Is on my to-watch from a long time. I have a feeling even I won't be getting the deeper meaning. :p

It is pretty perplexing that such queries are actually asked around.
A simple googling would do the job.
Sorry I just took it as a conversation and asked about it without thinking. Did do a google search later and replied. Also added a separate rating to make the next post more useful. You can delete that post.
