Edge of Tomorrow. The best movie of 2014. According to me at least.I Hope you do enjoy the movie.... & that I do as well! , .
Yeah, but I get what you mean. MI has generally ranged between decent to great over the years. There's also my opinion that most Tom Cruise movies are good. This will also be hopefully refreshing in that it isn't a sci-fi/superhero movie. Besides, I really enjoyed that last Tom Cruise movie (the day resetting wala). So I have high hopes as well.
Fingers crossed!

Yeah, 2014 had some great action movies.

John Wick

Compared to those, Rogue Nation felt very cliched and paint-by-numbers.
It wasn't marketed well. Didn't get a lot of attention prior release. So, naturally people didn't know about it.Wait.... EoT didn't do well at the box office? That's sad.
Guess that's why we get the same formulaic stuff over & over .....
Read an article on Polygon about this. Apparently, it didn't do too well in US but if the worldwide collections are considered, it was a good grosser. But I guess the studios don't make that much on overseas revenues comparatively but still this can't be dubbed as an underperformer. BTW, I loved it.It wasn't marketed well. Controversies
On the announcement of the Hindi remake, film producer Ekta Kapoor sent a legal notice to the makers of the Malayalam filmmakers. Ekta Kapoor has acquired the movie rights of Japanese author Keigo Higashino's book, The Devotion of Suspect X and her legal team has claimed that Drishyam is a film adaptation of the novel, for which they have purchased rights. However, the film's director Jeethu Joseph, who will also be directing the Tamil version, clarifies that his film is neither a adaptation nor a copy of the Japanese novel and film.[14]
