It's been a while since I saw 2 movies in a day but I will do a short review on both. I will review the second movie first.
Jobs (2013)
Only after watching the movie did I see the ratings on RottenTomatoes, Metacritic and IMDB to see if I and my friend are the only ones who didn't like it. This movie came a while back and was a movie that I wanted to see but never got the time and forgot about it. So as we sat scrolling through channels and we saw it we thought why not... Should have kept scrolling
The movie has absolutely nothing to offer that you already don't know infact it shows less than what the average guy in this forum knows. Also if this movie was a homage to Steve Jobs then it was done totally wrong. It depicts Steve Jobs as a back stabbing egotistical demeaning perfectionist jerk. If he was all that then they did a great job.
The movie only focuses on the Apple Story till the part he comes back and takes over the reins. You see Jobs getting ousted and being brought back the very next minute. No mention NeXT or Pixar (NeXT gets a mention in the pitch to the board nothing else).
In short the movie overall is incomplete. Poor pacing, bad script and average acting. An hour long documentary would be more informative than this 2 hours plus movie.
Mission Impossible 5
One of those big budget pop corn movies that promises the world to you generally average. Fortunately not a Michael Bay movie so it delivers as promised the average Pop corn munch flick.
I saw the first 3 a long time back and missed out on the 4th. So I will treat this movie as a standalone movie.
The movie was enjoyable and a good watch but there were some issues (may be I am nitpicking here) that annoyed me a bit.
- I don't remember the first 3 movie attempting to parody itself by overusing the word impossible multiple times and also using the lines (Should you choose to accept).
- Product Placement. I first noticed it with the 3 Dell Monitors which then extended to xBox One. Later on it became very obvious with every car being a BMW and every bike being a BMW. It got so worse that near the end when you see a Mercedes in which I think the antagonist Solomon arrives you notice that Mercedes logo is missing.
- Iron Man sort of started a trend where even in the serious situation they poke fun or sound cocky. That feels odd in this movie because the character was quite serious and restless in the first few movies and so were the movies but the tone in this movie was different. You had an ominous feeling of collateral damage that was missing in this movie it gave you the feeling of everything will be alright no matter what.
Anyways like I said the movie is good and recommended for watching atleast once.
