AMD 6000 series graphics cards

OMGWTF! Hope it won't be true.
So the PCMR guys say this should be normal for a high end premium version. At least those with 1000W+ PSU owners will now be able to put their PSU to full use lol.
This is just bs. With dual 8pin, card can pull 375W max. So 750 is overkill.

How much do you think the reference and the high end model will have performance different ? do you think it will cost around 80k or more than 80k ? reference should be less than 62k I think for RTX 3080.
And we are F'ed up !

I'm expecting this to launch at around 65-70k considering the price gouging that is happening right now. If it is less, I'd be pleasantly surprised.

I think I need to camp at Lamington Road now to get my hands on the card :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy:
Everyday is just making me more and more confused now :bawling:

Have you guys learnt nothing after the botched launched of the 3xxx series GPUs ?
You are behaving like those Apple cultists who camp outside their stores weeks in advance just to purchase another piece of plastic that will be available widely sooner or later.
There's no point speculating on market prices, performance, power draw, etc until it's in the hand of independent reviewers and physically available in b&m stores.

If you get too excited about anything you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

I have a time I Limit due to which I am in this situation. else I would have waited for anything else. now that Big Sur is lauched and will be available from tomorrow. people will start posting hackintosh and I hope we will be able to get support for RX 6000 on those machine soon. I have no experience with dual cards system so that is also and Issue else I would have waited for 3080Ti and bought an RX570 or RX580 and then used it for Mac and first one for windows. like this also I do own a 2070S so wait of this kind would have not been an issue. also I don't have anyone near by who can lend me their amd card and I could have tested it out.

Exactly. New OS, new GPU, there's no need to rush and have a potentially frustrating experience on your hands.
Better to wait this one out for a few months IMO, also 3080TI ? lol let them make 3070/3080 widely available before annoucing more products.

3080Ti is to be launched in Jan 2020. I think 3080 production will be limited due to this or stopped !

Or available in Jan 2021 for a $300 premium.
That's why I am holding the upgrade for now. Won't buy anything except for PS5. PC components, I think will upgrade by May or June next year coz by then this mad craze would have died.

If you're buying a GPU just for gaming there's no reason to rush in for an upgrade anyways unless you want to game @4k in which case you only have poorly optimized games like AC:Valhalla already struggling to hit 60fps on a 3080.
There are no games that are pushing boundaries atm, even CP2077 has 1060 under recommended specs since it has been under development for so long, as for the implementation and hit on performance due to raytracing it still remains to be seen.

I think ray tracing still needs a year or two to mature. Its kinda of a joke right now to pay only for RT performance of this caliber.

On the contrary, the implementation of ray tracing in most games seems to have been a joke up till now except for a few games (Metro & Control are excellent implementation).

I think we'll get to see good adoption of ray tracing & some really ground breaking stuff in the coming years now that consoles have ray tracing hardware & developers have a real incentive to work on this. Just look at Spiderman miles morales as an example. Despite having reportedly weak RT hardware compared to say a RTX 3080, PS5 is already delivering amazing Raytracing implementation. IMHO I would always prefer higher graphics fidelity over higher resolution any day & the current hardware seems to be very capable in providing the ray traced effects specially at lower resolution.

I wouldn't base my future purchase decision solely on ray tracing performance just yet but it is still already an important criteria moving forward.

Addressing the original discussion, waiting for a few months on new hardware almost always turns out better. But then again some of us have the privilege of buying things at launch without having to worry about getting a good deal & that is also absolutely fine.
