PiHole should be a must

Maybe they're closing down? J/K but just read this half hour ago

:D :) no that's not it - Allahabad bank is now Indian Bank (merge into) and it will merge something else.... i,e into the Final 4.

Just before the festival ICICI Bank failing in everywhere Unsuccessful NEFT, declining UPI payment request, Failed Online Transaction / Debit card payment but later it turns out the technical issue.

Anybody can confirm they can open this page using PiHole

Banks like SBI, ICICI, IOB are working - The only non-working bank is the above.
Went till Login popup , No issues
Works for me on PiHole. Check your blocklist.

We can replace pi-hole with next dns on raspberry pi - this is worth checking based on the comments on this thread and overall information flowing around on the same stuff across internet.
i was using NextDNS in Pi but free queries is only 300000 so if many devices then this limit will finish
In this tut PiHole has been replaced but 300000 query issue still exists

I just tried NextDNS and Adguard on my setup to test. For me, the Adguard is much more effective at blocking ads that were shown on the test page.

I am glad that it turned out that way as I don't have to bother about the 300k queries limit now

Hmm port triggering on my tp link router seems to be what i would need?

Or maybe using the virtual servers option?

Virtual servers

But i don't see option to redirect traffic to specific ip on network
I have the same issue with my tp link router as well. Virtual servers seems to be only for public incoming traffic. Port triggering doesn't have target ip option.

I'm missing something here... why we need RPi if we go for nextdns? just configuring DNS server in the router is enough right?

Only DNS server doesnt give best results . You have to add other blocklists to include most popular ones - StevenBlack , Energized Ultimate and oisd-nl
U can test it also
Add NextDNS DNS in router
test on https://canyoublockit.com/extreme-test/
Add uBlock Origin in Firefox /Chrome with above blocklists
Test DNS + uBlock on https://canyoublockit.com/extreme-test/
Try all permutation and combinations
With piHole you wont have to install uBlock or comparable app in all devices

DNS in router and uBlock Origin in all devices is comparable to PiHole

Earlier i used to run pihole in RPI 3+ when i was using asus router. Later once i moved to Google wifi router, i did not configure pihole and left it. Recently decided to setup pihole again as the Ads are too much now a days and most of the ads in mobile browser covers entire screen :(. Since pihole needs a seperate setup and a device, i was looking for cloud based system, thats when i found out NextDNS. It was easy to setup and so far free account is fine for me. I configured NextDNS dns servers in my google wifi router and run a automatic task in Firestick to update my public IP to the NextDNS by calling their URL. Since firestick will be running almost whole day, i setup Automagic(alternative to tasker) to call the URL provided by NextDNS for every one hour.

So far this setup working fine.
Is there any other advantage of running NextDNS over Pihole ? You can run pihole on the cloud.
There was some controversy on NextDNS -

Changed my DNS to AdGuard DNS . Blocking increased to 48% . Nothing seems to be broken till yet

honestly, its good however a pi is not doing anything much you can do with a very powerful router with ad block, plus some always on vpns on devices. pi is great for home wifi, same devices on 4g will be hit the moment you switch over from wifi to mobile data.
I fix this with DoT and running two instances of Adguard Home.

My DoT/DoH server runs at, xyz.com.

First instance runs in my home network and rewrites dns query to xyz.com to 192.168.2.3(which is the IP address of machine running Adguard Home in my network). This way, All machines in my home network are using the local Adguard instance over just normal DNS/DoT/DoH.

When I am not on the home network, xyz.com resolves to the public IP of the VPS on which I am running adguard home and it continues to work over DoH/DoT. (I have normal DNS disabled on the VPS because of bots and other parties probing it and un-necessarily increasing load on the machine).

In Android, I have xyz.com set as the value in Private DNS field.
In Firefox, I use https://xyz.com/dns-query as the DoH endpoint.
Similar thing on Windows.
Haven't yet figured this out on ios without using a third party app. They have supposedly added DoT support in ios 14 but it's weird. :/

Thanks to kuduku’s blocklist, I too have 2.6 million domains on blocklist. Didn’t get much false positives, had to manually unblock one domain till now.

I think this is easily doable if your router is a bit powerful and supports scripting/api. You can write simple scripts and a cron job to crawl adblock lists regularly and update the DNS entries.

Yes for you but not for us normal souls . You might not remember but u had repaired my Pogoplug Pink , added 3.5mm serial port . I again messed it up during an update . From that time its lying bricked .......Otheriwse i would have done this on Pogoplug only
On a lighter note can i send it again to you ;);)

I was thinking about your TE username that I might've interacted with you earlier at some point but actually forgot. If I've to avoid the Raspberry route, I can easily do this to my Mikrotik router using builtin scripting or using the API. You can do this to any almost any device if it does't bottleneck and puts any restriction on the entries.
