AliExpress banned and is no longer an option in India - what other options exist ?

Nope. You can even put it in your cart and go all the way to the payment confirmation page. It's only when you click on "Pay now" that you get shown a message that the order cannot be processed. Check out the screenshot below.

What about the shipping from China and etc. ? There used to be some sellers on ebay.com based in china.
Is the shipping affected too?

by the time you move on with your life and you defiantly don't need the product what you desire now.
I have a feeling, in 5-10 years everything coming from outside will be blocked and we can only watch rubbish hindi entertainment, news, and religious channels for entertainment. English will be banned becuase outsiders bought it here. Everyone will become like sadhu and do bhajans. So no need of worldly desires.

Not sure but one of my Black Friday orders on AE got cancelled and the seller basically told me that the shipping routes are blocked and the logistics company won't accept shipments to India. Maybe he was talking about the interface from within AE but I had to let go of a good deal because of this. I'm not sure about plain shipments coming in from China. I wouldn't think those should be affected, but who knows.

That seems like an excessively defeatist and pessimistic point of view that is needlessly hyperbolic. Says more about how you see the current situation than about where things are actually headed.

If everything is getting banned where do you see the current situation going? Today it's China. Tomorrow it will be USA, Japan, Australia, Canada etc. It's a very realistic point of view which is not pessimistic in any way. In fact it just shows how much faith I have in the current govt - zero if anyone has any doubts about it.

Hope this stupid government gets thrown out of power ASAP and whatever be the next govt they have some brains in their ministers.

Your point of view suggests that you see the ban on these apps as absolutely baseless. While admittedly there could be more transparency on the stated basis for banning these apps, but anyone moderately informed of the situation knows that these bans are the consequence of the political and strategic strife we have with China. The bans and the resulting business impacts on China are a way of obtaining leverage over the situation and it's sort of like a slap on their wrist for disregarding our interests. Because make no mistake, all of the bans have a negative impact on Chinese economic interests, however significant or insignificant they may be, and that's one means of getting them to act with more consideration for our interests. It's not completely so random that this move automatically extends to the possibility that tomorrow the government would do the same for Canada or Japan or Australia and that it should come as no surprise.

I guess the bottom line is that you're quite pissed. Not a very wise thing to say to someone who's pissed, but your views say more about your mood than about the future we're heading to.

So everyone in India including indian companies ordering stuff from China are undermining the interests of Indian citizens? Looks like you have quite a few stuff stuck in transit too.
So according to you, you have no interest in citizens of India since you're actively talking about trying to buy stuff from China? Why are you increasing China's wealth by ordering stuff from them? You like China more? Nothing is black and white line you think it is.

It's impossible to talk to someone fascinated by this govt when they themselves are breaking the rules and ordering from China.

Is it so that if we order anything from china form other websites, the logistics company wont entertain India shipments or it only specific to AE?

Obviously the ban impacts us as individual citizens and as companies that rely on Chinese imports. I'm not super pleased with what going on either, both the border disputes and these bans, but I understand why they are happening and why the government is doing what it is doing. Which is why I'm accepting the situation and looking for alternatives instead of spewing hyperbolic rants about the government.

Also, the other reason why I don't mind the bans as much as I would have, is that this gives us a boost in motivation to build our own manufacturing industry. Of course it would only work if we actually setup the foundation for that. And to be honest, if you know anything about China, a lot of these products are as cheap as they are because of the modern day human slave industry that powers the manufacturing sector in China. China has very little regard for human rights of the workers and the products are cheap for that reason. While it is a personal concern, I'm also not someone so idealistic that I would pass up on the good deals because it's not super ethically made. But because of the underlying unethical mess that is powering the industry, I don't mind the bans so much, even though that has nothing to do with the ban. I am personally rooting for us to start manufacturing stuff for ourselves. I can't speak for everyone, but I am quite happy to sacrifice cheap deals for a path that leads us to a future that in which we are more self-reliant as a nation. But again, it remains to be seen whether we are successful in establishing that industry at home.

It's funny. In our country, when you criticise the government you get labelled anti-national. And when you don't criticise the government, you are seen as being "fascinated by the government" or a "bhakt". No wonder the narratives in our country are inundated with points of view that are either extremely and needlessly critical of what's going on (as in your case) or extremely baselessly favourable, as in the case of the actual bhakts, who would support the government no matter what they do. But anyway, please do go ahead and stop talking to me. I'd appreciate it too!

This sucks. What was the point?
The government just keeps giving me reasons to get out of here.

My order for ear pads for Bose qc25 which I placed on 27 Nov seems to be coming though...

I don't think orders that were already shipped are going to be affected. Mine seem to be coming through as well.

Considering the uncertainities around AliExpress, Bangood, etc. Has anyone tried Lazada? It is essentially the Malaysian version of AliExpress (Owned by Alibaba)

Lazada looks like it only ships to places within Malaysia, unless I'm mistaken and there's a way to get it to ship to India? If yes, that would be great.

Has anybody tried Ubuy.co.in ?
Some items there having very good prices, they say its including customs and shipping is shown upfront. But I am worried they may charge additional customs later.
