Nvidia RTX 3XXX Series announced

I'm good, getting a MSI 3070 X trio for 61.3k from that acro group lucky draw, hope it goes fine.
Good for you.
How I hoped the scenario would play out was like this: Nvidia introduces new 3k series and AMD 6x series. This will bring down the price of previous gen rtx 2k and rx 5k cards. Then I can get whichever fits my budget.
But I was so damn wrong. What a terrible time to build a new PC. Before crypto craze "any time is a good time to build a new gaming PC" was a pretty popular phrase.

Has previous gen prices ever drop though? Like I don't ever remember stores giving discounts on old gen gpus even after a year lol.

3090 8k 60 fps enough said priced at $1500
3080 2x faster than 2080 priced at $700
3070 faster than 2080ti priced at $500

But dont jump onto it ,AMD might have something stunning than this ,and again the ti`s and supers are awaiting in nvidia`s flanks. Be patient

Sorry RTX 2XXX series owners ,Guys dont buy used 2XXX series card at thigh rates get new 3XXX

EDITED LATER ON

My thoughts great cards but 3080 AND 3070 will be restricted by their VRAMS PSU requirements and temperatureu .Maybe gtx 400 all over again ,1080ti users look if you can wait for a year for the ti`s and the super

And people who were waiting .The trade off would be Temps ,PSU requirement the electricity consumption and maybe less vram on such powerfull cards ,i hava strong feeling ti`s and supers are there in near future and those would be fabbed on TSMC and could be power efficient
And now in March 2021, when we all thought cards will arrive and game:eek:n!

Cards are in extreme shortage. No RTX 3XXX card is being sold for less than twice of FE MSRP. Even the most basic, Dual Fan 3060s, which Nvidia suggested : 29,500 - is selling for no less than 60,000.

3060Ti is like a myth - can't be seen anywhere.

3070 is almost 80k everywhere - again twice its 44,500 FE MSRP

3080 is over 1,20,000 - again twice its FE MSRP.

And 3090 I dunno - if any ever came to India.

Scalpers, Miners, and BIGGEST CULPRITS : ROGUE DISTRIBUTORS playing tricks ruined gaming for everyone.

Mera Bharat Mahaan, aur kaala Bazaari ka ghar bhi.

Ya just keep looking for good deals, don't give in to the hyped up prices.

I remember 2060 dropping to 26k from 30k

No, I won't ever recommend waiting to buy a previous gen at discounted new price. The price difference is so less that it isn't justified at all. The card is past it's half lifetime you would be paying more money per year of use when buying 1 year later with just $50-60 off the original price. That's very bad value for money.
Never in history has Nvidia dropped previous gen prices much to make it a value. Even the 1050Ti sold only 1-2K less than a gtx 1650, before the shortages.
It only makes sense to buy GPUs at or near launch so you get maximum value out of it (minimum cost per year).

I didn't recommend that, just said that sometimes price does go down. But I think 2060 went down because of the 2060 super which is technically not a new gen.

Once Ethereum 2.0 will be released then it might come down greatly. Tabb to there is be influx of too many used GPU but do not expect that to happen before end 2022 or Early 2023. Also Ethereum is kind of immune to an extent (with some exceptions) to ASICS that why still there is craze with GPU mining. BITCOIN is already immune to GPU mining because ASICS have take over.
It is not only you but there are many others thinking the same.

Speaking of mining, buying used GPU's after the mining season is kind of risky. Who knows how many of them must have been used for mining. And I know that no seller will be transparent about it either. IMO our *only* hope is for retailers to sell new RTX 3k and RX 6k at their reasonable prices. This will force sellers selling used gpu's to drop their prices. The second hand sellers in this forum aren't that compassionate either. Most of them just want to make big bucks asap.

No bhai, I talked to my Retailer and he said the story is bad. They are actually forced to buy other stuff. Like my friend Booked Mahindra Thar and he was forced to pay 50k for accessories otherwise he was told that you'll have to wait. Also miners take good card of their card as the hash-rate goes down with high temperatures so they are usually undervolted and underclocked too. Plus the dip in performance will not be more than 5% of the actual one. There are a couple of videos for it on YouTube. By the way I am getting a good binned RTX 3080 for 83K (MSI X TRIO). Wink Wink and still thinking whether I should buy it or not.

Would this card GTX 1650 be better or inferior than or equivalent to the RX 570? Where does it fit? Its the STANDARD version btw. Not Super. Someone is selling it for 11.5k. Just wondering if its a good deal.

I was referring to the longevity of the card not the performance.

I can only hope that he's wrong. What else is hope for right?

If i remember right, at the time of it's release, the 1650 was quite disappointing, afaik it didn't exactly hit close to rx 570 numbers. Only advantage the 1650 has is it doesn't need extra power from the psu i think. I wouldn't be surprised if that card gets sold by tmr

Ya I thought so too. But it will get sold because of the stock issue. Would've liked it at a lower price tbh.
Just checked a review. Looks like its made for esports titles in mind lol.

I think that is why 1650 Super or Ti version was released. I dont think the situation will improve untill GPU mining stops happening. I dont think the prices will come down for this year. 3 months are already down and nothing changed. Stock for Consoles/CPU/GPU is not being released like in the past.

Yes I agree miners do overclock memory and downclock on core and power limit the card so it's actually better than used for gaming cards.
People who don't have the knowledge on mining obviously think it's bad for the card.
I would rather prefer a card which is used for mining than one used for gaming over 1-2 years.

Yepp, miners do make their GPU work 24x7 but they want to make sure that the Hash-rate does not drops. I have see one myself and the room was chilled with AC running. The GPU were barely hitting 60 degrees and I think I saw more than 100 GPU in a 20 Feet by 30 Feet room, boy it was noisy like hell.

now we have This
looks like its gonna get worse.
Adding to the burns of the gamers 3070ti and 3080ti rumoured to be announced in the next two months.

Hope there won't be too much difference, as I'm buying a 3070. If they give more vram and significant performance difference I'm gonna lose it.
