About 23K and 31K?
I am expecting this is where it will land. But I am wondering if 5600G would be a good value compared to a 5600X at a 4k discount? We are essentially loosing half L3 cache as well as PCIE 4.0. Not worth it IMO, than again it depends upon how it performs in games compared to 5600X. 5700G is a lot more interesting though at this price point & a huge discount over 5800X.

At 20k 5600G would be make most sense & will destroy impact Intel's mid range competition too.

If that is the case then yeah, I'd think so too. L3 seems crucial.
Also saw something about stacked 3D cache that triples L3, good next gen stuff.

Differences between G & X models:

5600x => Base clock 3.7GHz, Boost clock 4.6GHz, L3 Cache 32MB, PCIe 4.0, TDP 65W
5600g => Base clock 3.9GHz, Boost clock 4.4GHz, L3 Cache 16MB, PCIe 3.0, TDP 65W

5800x => Base clock 3.8GHz, Boost clock 4.7GHz, L3 Cache 32MB, PCIe 4.0, TDP 105W
5700g => Base clock 3.8GHz, Boost clock 4.6GHz, L3 Cache 16MB, PCIe 3.0, TDP 65W

I wonder how will the reduced L3 cache impact gaming performance. I hope it doesn't impact too much. Also the PCIE 3 speeds on G series are a big letdown in my opinion.

anyone would like to comment on the R7 4750G Pro vs 5700G or 5750G - I dont see much difference and not sure if the newer processor will cause or dent current standing of 4750G.

Why not? It will definitely impact 4750G if it is priced around 31-32k due to the superior Zen 3 architecture. Also since these are getting officially launched as consumer CPUs now, we'll get full 3 years warranty.

In India, you can buy 4750G and 3 Years of warranty still applies; probably @chetansha can confirm. MD/Vedant were offering it online and mentioned of 3 Yrs of warranty - only downside this has was no box, CPU came in OEM packaging with cooler. MD offered it for 29k rougly (but it is out of stock now).

Hey, I did not know that thanks for pointing it out. Anyways, that still doesn't change the original point. At 30-32k, 5700G provides superior performance & value unless 4750G drops to something like 25-26k.

I wasn't talking about the iGPU performance above. My point was solely based upon the CPU performance & so was @roofrider as well I think. Even than getting 2nd gen Ryzen cores for a couple of thousands less is still a bad deal even if you don't get better iGPU performance.
 
Yep, not iGPU. In that video he uses a 3060 to compare the two. If the difference from half the L3 is marginal and if priced correctly it'll be a good 5600x alternative. Same applies to the 5800x. Some extensive testing from HU and GN will show how the other games/software perform, but it might take a while before such reviews are out I guess. I don't know how much it'll affect next-gen/upcoming games so that also needs to be considered.
 
It all depends upon the type of Apps some favor cache etc ,but in the mining times these Apu offer the best value , and the apu compared to its respective desktop counterpart is not very far from matching it all good buy ,if you keep on changing gpu or you are the one who keeps on changing gpus than apu is a good bet.
 
After having gone through a little more videos as well as articles, it seems 5600G & 5700G are essentially the mobile CPU parts unlocked to a higher voltage. This is the reason behind the half L3 cache as well as the lack of PCIE 4 support.

I think it is going to be a very interesting comparison between these variants not just due to the different L3 caches & clock speed differences but also for the fact that the G variant is a monolithic die while the X variant is chiplet based. This could result in better temps for 5600G & specially 5700G compared to 5600X & 5800X respectively due to the increased surface area & might also have an impact on core to core latencies. Unfortunately with a release date of August, we'll be waiting a long time for any sort of performance comparison between these parts.

If this Zen3+ is not used as an launch vehicle for AM5 and somehow comes to the AM4 platform, I'm getting an X570 board and plonking my 2700X in it (yes, supported on X570 and not on the sucky B550), and then will upgrade it to some of this V Magic when the 2700x really shows it's age (read as me completing all old game backlogs and actually getting to newer more CPU demanding ones).

I'm officially confused about their roadmap. Per the last leaked roadmap Warhol had a cancelled tag to it, but certainly there is another Zen 3 (plus?) part coming out. I have no idea under what codename this is going to launch.

I was assuming it would be AM4, but looks like we need to wait to be certain.

Ian Cutress replied to one of the tweets with: "Some vendors are announcing boards at Computex. Nothing from AMD yet." Unless I'm mistaken, he's referring to 600 series chipsets and those will arrive with AM5. AM5 is also supposed to bring DDR5.
Disregard. That was probably about new X570/S boards.
It is very likely to be AM4
