I have alternated between using Google Desktop and Windows Desktop Search facilites. Somehow, I have come to prefer Windows desktop for simple reason, its speed.

I tried Open office sometime ago and the major problem I had was with its Spreadsheet, alternative for MS Excel. It seemed like it had long way to go to be a better alternative to Excel.
