Budget 31-40k PC for Animation work

Uhmmm.....you sure? I kind of got the exact opposite advice from Alpha a few weeks ago when he suggested that compute performance matters for Maya and ergo, a Radeon card would be better. Edit - Bugger...didn't realize this thread was quite old. Apologies for bumping it.

Budget 41-50k Upgrade Time - Gaming and Maya (animation)

Weird how they seem to be in short supply. I did find a few 1333Mhz modules on Flipkart though...problem is, they're Gskill. Mixing and matching Corsair with Gskill would have issues, right? I would gladly stick with 1600 and hope it clocks back to 1333, but when I initially bought the ram and...

Budget 41-50k Upgrade Time - Gaming and Maya (animation)

I'll just bump down the settings a bit if it gets too taxing I guess. Like I said, primary gaming is still going to be the 360 :) I've settled on this version of the 7950. Might be buying it locally though. Just to compare prices. Sapphire AMD/ATI HD 7950 OC Edition 3 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card |...

Budget 41-50k Upgrade Time - Gaming and Maya (animation)

Well, I've decided on the 7950. Sapphire or MSI I guess. Having looked it up online, I'm wondering now if my CPU would be a pretty big bottleneck as far as performance goes. Would it? And on another note, would I really benefit from a SATA III SSD like the OCZ Vertex 4 or should I just settle...

That's what I'm using http://i.imgur.com/AkYRA.jpg http://i.imgur.com/nEqiL.jpg Ends up blocking the port next to it. Looks like I'll be sticking to a single HDD :-/

Budget 41-50k Upgrade Time - Gaming and Maya (animation)

Much appreciated :) The 7950 does look to be the better option. Only problem is checking to see if it will fit in my case while not blocking two SATA ports needed for my current HDD and the SSD.

Budget 41-50k Upgrade Time - Gaming and Maya (animation)

Thanks for the input guys :) So, my upgrade idea is in line with what you guys suggested as well. Jakob I wish I could get a 1600Mhz module, but the cpu only supports 1333 max. (or am I mistake here?) ALPHA17 (or anyone else) Why AMD instead of Nvidia? I don't really have a preference, but...

Monitors Suggest 22" LED Full HD monitor

I picked up the BenQ GW 2250HM yesterday for 8650. I love it. It's a VA panel. It's an option and fits your budget. Have my 360 hooked up to it via HDMI.

    Graphic Cards NVIDIA 8600 GT Temp @ 95 'C ??

I'm guessing you mean idle temperature? No, 95 degrees C is definitely not normal. Cleaned it lately? Dust can muck it up pretty bad.

Monitors Dell or LG - LED Monitor

Hmm...looks like the availability of the Dell might be an issue. Pondering the BenQ GL2250HM as well now. Who handles BenQ's after sales service? Comparable to Dell?

Monitors Dell or LG - LED Monitor

I've figured it's about time I switched to an LED monitor and had pretty much narrowed down my choice to the Dell ST2220L. That was until I happened to bump into the LG E2260V. IMO, it looks a whole lot better, but I'm not quite sure if LG has the same after sales service as Dell does. Dell...

    Rashi Peripherals After Sales

I'm in the market for a new graphics card and I've pretty much narrowed down my choice to the GTX 670 DCII Top from Asus. Quite aware that plenty of people have had RMA issues with Rptech, but most of that seems to be from 2007-10. Have they improved? What do you guys think?

    Black & White: GPU's @ SMC International

I was hoping this would be a post about the availability of the GTX 670's. Do you guys have a time frame for when you'll be getting those cards?

    Graphic Cards GTX670 Reviews

That's what I guessed the price would be as well. Now I have to decide if I'm getting the reference card or a Twin Frozr. Probably have to wait a couple more weeks (or a month) for that.

So, is it out in the wild here yet? I haven't seen the 670 pop up in any store. Anyone know what the time frame for release over here is?

    Region Free Blu Ray Player?

Does such a thing even exist? I've quickly turned into the technical adviser for my folks and they are now in the market for a blu ray player. They'll be buying it in the middle east, specifically , in Muscat for use in India. A full HD 3D player. I've looked at a few options, but I have no...
