Got it!! :clap: :hap2: Used Hitachi Feature Tool, works very nicely with WD :D. WD themselves do not provide any tool to disable/change AAM mode. Although, setting AAM tp 254 does increase the seek noise but it's still quiter than my earlier WD2500KS.

Supra, do you have any update on the drive's access times? I've received a response from WD support and they say a variance of 3ms is within spec, owing to different factors. I have asked them about AAM, let's see their reply to that.

What I'd suggest you is to get the speakers checked by Altec service center and get the confirmation from them if they really operated upon it. If yes, then how come they sent it to your dealer with the defect. That might confirm if your dealer sent the speakers to them in the first place.

Same here in Chandigarh. Am too on the Unltd. 256 plan and get 25-27 max dload/upload. Same line by CC here too sic(your plan says speeds from 128-256). They can't even say with a straight face that yes, we've been capped to 25kbps. Can't shift to BSNL either with their crappy upload speeds...
