Good quality electric kettle?

Was trying to buy electric kettle online, mainly for traveling with family. Almost bought Butterfly and I see the quality is pretty bad. Opted for returning it. While checking, I see many other brands are similar. Looks like they are all same, just the sticker change. I may be wrong but that is what I feel from the reviews and photos. Will go a physical shop this week to check in real.

Any good electric kettle brand/model that you recommend?

Also, the auto shutdown which is common, question is, we can’t boil water for few mins extra right? I mean, boiling water for some time is better in terms of purity than the auto switch off right after it start boiling isn’t it?

Any models like that? Or they does because of safety concern?

It keeps boiling for about 45 seconds in all those cheap models

Just today got this delivered.

For Rs 399 - you get mask, You get electric kettle and you get temperature gun

I have not used it and cannot use it for some time .

But lifelong has been decent with little above aveagre reviews.

And For Rs 399 is no brainer to worth taking a chance. Its almost like paying.

Another one I got was for cooking maggi and boiling egg. Very small light weight and easy to carry and works great till now. Even cooked rice for being testing out and to my surprise again good. It is 1L though. 450Watts.

Which brand/model?

Ah, the FK one is same as the Butterfly that I bought! So it is all the same, just the name I guess.

if want completely light weight and small just for coffee and tea like.

this is the one.

I have this one too . Works fine.

They are about 0.5 litre so maybe for whole family you may have to use 2-3 times. but takes about 5 mins maximum.

I have one from Pigeon. But it has plastic like coating on the pouring metal welding, so plastic crystals get mixed with water

They all cutoff at a certain temperature as they use bimetallic switches. You can forcibly try to let the water boil for some more time but at the risk of melting the plastic parts. So, an electric kettle isn’t the best appliance to make water safe for drinking.

Kettles with temperature control are more versatile for daily use. In any case, go for matte finish instead of shiny ones, as the latter are difficult to maintain.
