Monitor speakers went kaput and service center guy says it “might” cost more than 3k and then add to that their service cost.
Is there any simple speaker that can be added via bluetooth or usb?
Not looking for 2.1 or smthg like that. A simple portable speaker type of thing where it can just rest under the monitor is fine, without so many cables or extra devices.
But needs to have decent bass (not overpowering), so that I can use for movie watching or gaming without compromise.
Need not be very loud, but very good sound quality is preferred. My monitor has very good quality sound, but no good bass at all.
there are two options. I personally use tribit bought a year ago, still going good. It has balanced sound signature. My friend recently bought portronics one, it clearly has more bass than tribit but the mids do get recessed a bit.
I would suggest these from Creative, far better clarity and sound space than the commercial BT soundbars at the cost of a little less power. You can also go for their Pebble Speakers if you decide to take on some wire hassle.
Definitely Mono, you cant expect stereo sound with just one small speaker.
The bass is it has is more of quality bass rather than quantity.
I will make it easier for you. If you over-powered bass like the tuning of boat then portronics is the way to go ( Its tuned much better than boat, lol) but if you better balanced sound signature with quality bass like that of oppo then tribit is preferred
Hmmm that’s the sad part. To get stereo or anything, I guess more devices and wires is only solution?
But to give an idea of what I expect, for example my monitor speakers too don’t sound that much stereo but we can somehow sense that it’s not mono 100%, someway it feels fuller. Maybe I’m making this up due to years of listening to these speakers.
Another eg is, we have this bluetooth speaker Sony XB10. It is bassy, but not so much as boat, but feels very mono and voice is muddy when watching movies.
Yes Boat sounds horrid, especially when compared against a quality speaker like a the Marshall Willen 2 which is crystal clear cause it uses Scanspeak drivers.
Moving from monitor/laptop speakers most will sound much better.
I have these usb speakers for many years. They have served their purpose very well. This has a green power led. The knob has become scratchy because of no use. Have been using laptop volume control only. Would buy them again at fair price. Not easily available now.
I wanted to buy these to connect to a mi box (usb 2.0 port + aux). Pending for me.
Major benefit is the speakers turn on/off with my laptop/desktop. I don’t have to worry if I have turned them off or not. I don’t use the particular laptop/desktop everyday so scared the speakers will fry if left on by mistake for a couple of days.
But still I can move my logitech to use with mi box (the usb port is always powered, regardless of mi box on/off, so same problem) and buy a powered set for the laptop/desktop. For this I would go for 2.1 and up my budget. Don’t need bluetooth or battery backup.
The mi box is connected to a 11.6 laptop screen converted to external. Would like something small to match. Over thinking this, has delayed my purchase.
The small bluetooth ones are literally noise . No music in them . I would suggest a decent 2.1 like logitech and install APO on your computer . It makes them sound decent .
Why I thought of bt speaker, is the form factor. Thought I’d very much like to have a 2.1, the wires and setup will be messy, and my kid might ruin it out of curiosity.
