What happened to all DDR4 ram stock

I am looking to buy a 64gig DDR4 RAM for my home server ,but almost every online website i see have hardly 1 or two kits.I has read that the production of ddr4 was stopped by major brands, but did not think that stock would be cleared so fast Or Did the demand for ddr4 really increased that much. should I order before even the last one go out or is it just temporary and I should just wait a little more

all top manufactures are stopping productions. so i dont think price is goign to be corrected near soo.

Even I was looking for a good 2x16gb kit, but didn’t find any good ones.
Maybe they all want us to just upgrade to ddr5

Well, it makes sense since ddr5 is generally more expensive than ddr4 and most of the new systems are ddr5 so they would focus more on ddr5 production

Latest I heard that somes cos are using scrapped/ old unused chips to make new rams and selling them.

I knew about the production stop but didn’t think that they would start to go out of circulation so soon. Its so hard to find 64gb+ kit in second hand market

Regarding Patriot ram, warranty is a doubtful thing. In one of the reviews, a guy said we have to send the ram to other country. Not sure if that’s the case still.

I emailed them and patriot team has given a very vague information without giving service center details in my city.

Then you have to make peace with local cos. like dynet, dollychaivala and so on.

Isn’t that also the case with G Skill? Don’t you have to send it to Taiwan?

No idea about Gskill. But after checking some reddit posts, that seems to be the case.

Why the heck govt allows these fellows to sell without having a service center in India? I mean who can bear all the cost of sending to some other country and even paying duty, bribe etc to get it back?

GSkill RAM can indeed be sent to Taiwan directly but you can avail RMA with Acro as well if they have imported the particular unit indicated by their import sticker on the pack. Did the same for my kit which had a faulty stick.

Assuming govt cares about what’s good for people :index_pointing_at_the_viewer:t3::rofl:

Correct…I can even see the horrors of E20 petrol mileage since few days.

So if it says imported by Acro, they will handle the warranty? Regardless of where we buy from?

Yep. Send the sticks to their nearest service center.

What about t force? Does it have service centre in india?

Man if only I was still in Delhi i could have gone to nehru palace bought the ram, eaten lunch somewhere and come back home and it would still have been cheaper than these current online prices.

Hmmm I recently did buy 32gig patriot ddr5 ram, didn’t knew about this issue thanks for pointing it out . Probably will stick to known brands from now on
