GPro MAX Waterproof 360 + Traditional Camera + PNY Elite-X 128GB U3 -microSDHC Card (Bundle) https://amzn.in/d/0iBcgRUg
Rs 24k with card discount plus sd card free.

What a superb deal for a very good 360 camera.

The seller is new so please do mind that and be cautious of that.
As for the camera...
Having a 360 camera opens up creativity to next level and GoPro max is still great even after so many years and new models from Insta360 x4 out .. But that is Rs 50k above. Twice the price.

With hardly much gain other than 8k 360 video.

Btw shooting at 8k requires lot of storage. So it's only practical for few videos.

People can still create magic with GoPro 7. Which is almost 5 years old.
THIS.

For anyone just starting out and considering an action cam purchase on a budget, do keep an eye out for deals for older models. They are still very, very capable devices. Bought a Hero 8 Black on a steal deal and it serves all my needs (bike rides, timelapses, family video captures, etc.) very well!

How much did it cost? From where did you buy it?

OLX! xD

Found a local deal and so could go and check the cam for myself. I snagged it for 15 after some haggling.
That's what i thought. Go pro's are overpriced in used market. A new go pro 10 was available for 20k in recent sale.
Also dji action 2 is available between 13-18k, which is equivalent or better than go pro 10.

I was also looking at olx some days back but couldn't justify their pricing.
There were also several people who were selling used go pro 10 for more than the price of new.

Right now i am just waiting for them release new ones.

Firstly DJI oa2 is not comparable to GoPro 10 in terms of functionality. Video quality is pretty good and close to GoPro 10 quality.
DJI oa 2 is an action camera that is more suited for POV shoots and B roll shoots but not a good standalone action camera . It is pretty bad idea on that case.
Reason it's battery life is only 30 mins unless you attach he power unit which also takes its waterproofing away.

It serves different purpose. Still a good camera.

GoPro 10 on other hand is full standalone action camera.

Reason why used GoPro still get sold at high price and the reason I adviced people on my very first post is to go for GoPro if you are reselling person.
Is its durability.
I have seen GoPro 5 also still running smoothly.
My GoPro 7 got sold immediately when I went to deal with another adventure company who runs paragliding here in Himachal.

I also offered DJI to them but they said no they will prefer GoPro . They shared story of their GoPro surviving big falls too.

So their is something about GoPro that makes me feel very confident too as I have had major falls too.

But DJI action camera like 3 and 4 are suppose to be quite durable too atleast physically . I don't know how long their functioning durability is .

Now I cannot comment on olx prices.
But one can definitely keep looking for offer both online and offline and buy it .

Infact check your cities local camera shops too.

Here in Kolkata chandimarket there is a market for cameras where one can get brand new Dubai ka import of GoPro 11 and all for 22k-26k with some accessories too .

So I am sure in every city there is some area where many camera shops are around.

Yes, OA2 and gopro 10 differs in functionality. I looked at a lot of youtube reviews where everyone suggested OA2 has better quality.

The resale value prospect of gopro is very enticing.
One thing that is also keeping me away from gopro's is the heating issues and reliability while operating. A lot of people on youtube has suggested that they are not reliable however OA3/4 are very reliable.
Some also tend to suggest that OA4 has focus issues because its focus distance is longer and hence you will have a blurry face when shooting.

Let me know your thoughts.

Making a decision here has become a headache.
My objective is to shoot riding videos and cinematic videos and maybe use it as webcam if supported. I also prefer to lower the digital sharpness to rock bottom.
Currently my eye is on OA4 adventure combo. Will get it when it's priced near 30k

I still find GoPro videos better but it is more personal choice as even DJI has beautiful natural look. So like explained most of the current action cameras have great footage irrespective of what you buy.

The heating issue is there on GoPro's atleast till 11 and they are right when they say DJI oa4 and 3 are more reliable.

But focus issues are also there in some of the DJI camera.

I have realised DJI products are best avoided to buy early on their release.
One must wait a decent time and not get carried away with early reviews.

I suggested you to go for GoPro max because at that price ...having 360 video on your bike riding is going to give you amazing creativity but you will loose on resolution to some extent.

Unless you go for insta360 x4 which gives 8k.

Anyways new DJI is coming out this month so wait and you will see price drops further for earlier models.

I would suggest wait till entire September.

GoPro will launch its new model too.

New camera are now out.
GoPro 13 and DJI Osmo action 5 pro.

My suggestion is waiting before buying DJI products.

There are reports of issues already like low bitrate etc.
It may get fixed via firmware but I will strongly advice to wait.

These Chinese rush their products into the market but fail too sometimes In quality.

GoPro 13 on other hand is hardly any improvement and so is basically not much to look forward in it either unless you ready to spend much extra on accessories.

I was really hoping for some good improvement in gopro 13 and dji action 5 but it's nothing worth noting.

Gopro went accessory route. Buying a gopro 13 then a media mod and some accessories. It is very cost prohibitive.

Action 5 pro is also not much of an improvement. Everything is same except newer chipset and some software features.
Reviews have suggested that night performance is better on action 5 pro than action 4. But if you ask me, the night picture looks horrendous. So much extra sharpening and a lot higher ISO. An ISO if near 11000 is possible on action 5 pro which is why the image looks brigher on it compared to action 4.

The price difference is also not much between Action 4 and 5 pro.

The big upgrade I see is the bigger battery introduced with action 5 pro.

Currently it seems like, May be getting a action 4 with newer battery pack is wiser.

Also, Ace pro, Action 5 pro and Action 4 all costs nearly the same.

I want to buy one in this sale but now i know nothing.

Also, GoPro 10 will be available under 20k on flipkart in this sale.

@jdp861 insta ace pro is going for 34k something on Amazon..
Might want to check out.

It's not like DJI oA5 is not an improvement. It is just that right now it is not a good idea to buy . Which is always the case with DJI products specially action cameras in my opinion .

If one is getting GoPro 10 below 20k is definitely a decent deal( however it has flaws too) but otherwise all GoPro are good action camera.

I have always liked GoPro footage better than others atleast till DJI OA4 and Insta and GoPro has better stabilization too.

There are leaks of insta 360 ace pro 2 . Let see when it comes out.

@solo_wing How is the service of these companies in India?
From what I know none of them has presence in India.

Yes, I am not sure about the reliability of Ace pro. That flip screen, non user replaceable camera sensor protective glass and their proprietary file format.

Can you tell me about the drawbacks of GP10?

I want to shoot some vlog type videos at sunset time. Will GP 10 provide good sound and picture at this time without media mod?
Between i also love gopros color science.

The biggest advantage of dji is the compatibility of wireless mics without any mod.

As i said earlier, i was looking to buy action 4 Adventure combo. But now should i get action 5 pro or still action 4?

This market has become so confusing.

DJI has good presense through its distributor.
I have heard their distributor is doing a good job of replacing camera or repair if any issue. However their is a procedure .

For Gopro ...they provide 2 years warranty in India and I have used once their warranty service. It is very smooth . They send Fedex to pick it up from your home. SHip it to Singapore and within 2 weeks you will most likely get a brand new piece or well repaired one.

GP10 drawbacks are it was glitchy. Some people said it had slow response, even had footage deleted plus overheating but It still is quite useable unless you got hands on a very bad unit.

If I had the money , I would wait and go for DJI OA5 pro after waiting a little while It seems a good solid action camera but needs bit time to sort out and if they cannot sort out with firmware then I would look for Ace Pro for a good price or DJI OA4 for a good price.

But if I get GP10 or 11 for a really good price like 15k-20k I would go for it too but in your case since you will be talking quite a bit so maybe DJI works out too.

for sunset times meaning bit of low light and for that Ace Pro might be best for you.

I am not sure about the service of Insta360 in India but surely you they must have some presence as they are selling very well in India specially their 360 cameras.

The action cameras will keep coming out very rapidly now as many players have entered this field.
There are reports of some new players coming too .

Infact tbh I am now mostly inclining more towards Mobile phone as I recently used Samsung S24 ultra and and the footage and photos were both great,

folks - looking to get an action cam soon - have an important family trip coming next month and will definitely involve a fair bit of wet activities.

shortlisted GoPro 11/12 - can even consider the 13 if it's worth it. The Insta360 Go 3S was interesting too but the lack of replaceable batteries is a letdown

suggestions on which one to get are really welcome.

If you ready to buy GoPro 13 that means you have the money to buy latest.

See if you can go for DJI OA5 pro.
It has color sensor that will help in taking under water footage much better.

But do wait for a week or so as DJI addresses some issues that I think can be solved with firmware update.

13 only if it's worth it.

Since the 11/12/13 all have the same internals seemingly.. just the colour processing seemed different and probably battery life.. I figured the 11 was vfm considering it had the GPS module and the 12 didn't.. other than that couldn't really see much point in the 12 specifically.

Since I usually don't change cameras often (most of my electronics honestly) I thought of the 13 only if compelling enough.

Will look up the DJI OA5 though the Chinese apps and buggy finishing stuff is a turn off honestly

Gopro 11 makes more sense if you can get it at good price.

Gp13 is big investment as its macro lens alone costs $130. So lot of its features are sold seperately.

DJI OA5 is little wait and watch but it almost seems perfect but they still have some work left.

Yes you will have to deal with Chinese apps for DJI oA5
