Airtel Xstream Fiber Experience (Direct Cities)

Just a little doubt. I opted for airtel black plan. Airtel agent said if I pay in 3 months advance, no need to pay installation charges.
I said okay and he collected money from me.

Is it normal for airtel agents to collect money like that or does airtel accept only online payments?
I'm very tensed now if I've been scammed or something.

Hope you received a receipt for the amount you paid. I don't know about Airtel but I did pay to the agent for the ACT fibernet and the connection was given in couple of day's time.

I paid through UPI. Connection was given fast, but the 3 months money doesn't reflect in airtel app.

i paid online through credit card 2 years back. repeated tries but the transactions did not go through - airtel said failed. I was frustrated and told the person to disappear.

lo and behold, airtel came and installed after 2 days.

i waited for 20 days to have my cc bill show 9 months of payment made - all the transactions though failed, had made it to my cc and airtel balance!
happy but pissed settling that cc bill.

I'm on 1099 Plan Which costs me Rs 1296.82 after GST and to Pay my Bill I'm Using Airtel Axis Card and getting 25% Upto Rs 300 back. So It is net costing me ~Rs1000/month

Just Shared this information of Airtel Axis Card If anybody didn't know about it. One can get Savings of about Rs 300 each month.

yes. thats the reason i took this card too,. Did they charge you for set top box ? And where does onbe find the list of channels available ? Some place it shows 350 channels, some site shows Rs.350 worth channels. My next option is to take the 999 plan with 200mbps and other usual ott channels

I already had Existing Airtel DTH and Airtel Fiber, they just combined both of them to a single Airtel Black Plan. I wasn't charged anything and because of this they didn't provide me with their free 30 days.

My First Airtel Black Bill came Rs 50 more as I added channels worth Rs 434 or Rs 414 (I don't remember exactly). After that I've kept it under Rs 350 and now bill is around ~Rs 1300

Edit :- You can add any channels but amount should be under Rs 350 to be on safe side. They say this amount of Rs 350 is excluding GST and you can add upto Rs 420 something but don't do that you'll be charged more.

Check Attachment, My DTH Plan Costs me Rs 342/month and it coverly majorly all HD channels in top ups. And as it is under Rs 350 I don't get charged more in Airtel Black Bill.

Hey I am facing packet loss in apex legends on Tokyo servers . If any apex fan here please confirm . Also do confirm your location. I am located at bhubaneshwar

I was considering moving from my ACT direct fiber connection to Airtel Black as we still use DTH and pay up around 700/month and this could be helpful.

The options I have are to go for the 699 plan or the 1099 plan. Does it make sense to go for the 699+public IP? 40mbps won't be enough for me but if the gigabit speeds bug still work with public IP that should suffice as the DTH offering is same on both plans. Or should I just go for the 1099 plan? Please advise.

@Ssreek @napstersquest @Vaastav tagging you folks in case you can help

If you're not using BB for MP games, then I would recommend to stick with ACT. Airtel Black is a scam to lock users into Airtel services.

Even if you move to Airtel fiber, stick with individual service as it gives peace of mind.

PS: Yes, I got myself locked into Airtel Black, fiber & DTH.

The problem is that parents are already accustomed to Airtel DTH and their channel numbers etc for many years now so changing the DTH is hard for us.

So figured moving to Airtel Black seemed better as I can save some money there. Currently we pay around Rs.700 a month for DTH alone.

That's what many companies are doing, to lock you into their services.

But if we don't like we can exit from it right? There is no contractual obligation I believe.

So here is an update regarding Airtel black:
If anybody is taking Airtel black beware. While the service is "allegedly" good, if you want to exit, it is a lengthy process and involves multiple calls to cc and waiting.
But still, they will disconnect in the end, but not as fast as normal connection.

Just stop paying the bills and using their services. They can't do dick about it.

Not sure about that.
From what I heard, they will keep billing until we reach the 3k or 5k limit and then will disrupt the services. And then 1 fine day, they will issue a notice or some legal related guy will call.
