Anyone Used / Using Samsung Infuse 4G ?

@ rakrules ...... if you are planning to buy this after couple of months then there is no use , because till that time Hercules price will come below 300$

I never knew that a T Mobile Variant of the S2 existed with 4.5" screen

What you are saying is very much correct. So probably i will weight my options at that time. To be frank, i am not in the race to get the best / latest, rather i will concentrate on having something which will fulfill my needs in most reasonable price.

I think the price of Infuse should tank even more after say 2-3 months.

the infuse price will never go below 220 for mint ones , but the Hercules price will come down to 275$ for mint ones after 1-2months .and is having 1.5ghz dual core , full HD recording , more battery capacity and better GPU ...... stock 2.3 GB .

I bought one Hercules for 360$ mint and then paid 20$ for unlock code ......... sexy cellphone

I went to Walmart today and there was a dummy piece of Infuse there. For some reason i was very much comfortable with the 4.5" screen. This has put me in a spot and now i want to try my hands at the Galaxy Note and see if I am comfortable with it. But unfortaunately it has not launched in US. Will got to an AT&T store as soon as it is launched to have a try at the Note.

God, with so many choices, picking the right phone is nerve cracking.

Owned one for a while. Honestly feels like an oversized Galaxy S with a fantastic camera.

Whoever mentioned that he owns an S2 must not sell it for an Infuse as that is stupidity. Dual core phones are very fast using core apps of Android and also very quick at installing and opening third party apps.

The Infuse does all this quite well, but as I said, it has a Hummingbird processor and 512 mb RAM which, honestly is 2010 stuff. We are now in 2012, and an S2 or a Note are the right way to go. I was never a fan of clock speeds. I don't give a rat's ass if my phone does 1 ghz or 1.5. What matters is end user performance

If you really need Super Amoled as well as a good camera, but can sacrifice performance (by a teeny weeny but noticeable bit) then go for the Infuse. The battery life, camera , that gorgeous AMOLED and the extra search button (on the bottom of the handset, not present in World phones, only USA based Samsung phones) are a definite plus.

Lack of good custom ROMs and a scant range of accessories esp covers, can be a big minus point for me.

Go for it only if the S2 is out of reach.

Same here, not going for dual core and all. What matters is price performance ratio. I for now feel Infuse may satisfy my criteria. Note is out of budget. S2 is still not that cheaper here. As it is i am planning to get the phone after 2-3 months so i guess the price on S2 may get reduced by that time after Note is launched here.

I am not really keen on staying with latest stuff and all. So single core is absolutely fine with me. In fact i will get better battery life with it.

Accessories, well yes, getting that in India is nearly impossible as the phone was never launched in India.

About the screen, i have no clue about the difference between Super AMOLED, AMOLED, plus and what not so that does not matter. For now i have my ZTE Blade which is OLED and my brother had a TFT Blade and i for some reason was not really able to make out the so called stark difference.

What cover did you use for your phone ?

Btw i have seen there are lots of custom ROMs available on XDA and many of them based on stock so i guess things like H/W acceleration etc will still work fine for games, video etc.

Did you buy the phone unlocked or got it unlocked after getting it ? If you unlocked later then did you do it from ebay or unlocked using some free method ?

Used the TPU Slim Line case. LOVE them. Had it for the infuse, then the s2 and now the note, all are draped in it.

As for unlocking, it was locked. There was a free way to unlock it on xda somewhere.

And ROMs, all are ok, but not as many as the S2 or even the note now

One more query. At what frequency does 3G work in India? I need to make this sure that 3G will work in India. GSMARENA says the 3G frequencies for infuse is HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100

Here is the link to the free unlock method, seems to be difficult, but belive me its very easy and steps ar very descriptive, even i unlocked mine 10 days back when i got it in hand.

Indian operators use 2100 band which was provided/auctioned by TRAI. so 3g works on infuse in india.

So you got an infuse?

How is your experience and what are your views on the phone?

actually, i sold off my photon and came to the infuse, and shockingly, the UI is buttery smooth on the infuse, and the 4.5" screen is better than what i have used till date. using a custom rom on it currently, and i have not noticed any difference between photon and infuse since the last 10 days that i am using it. and its very light in weight and sleek. Battery life has been amazing, even better than the photon( i know that single core should give better battery life anyways, but have always seen samsung owners cribbing about battery life)

I would suggest you to go for infuse instead of spending more on the dual core samsung counterparts.

Nice deal brother. Do give us a brief review of the usability and app responses on the 512mb RAM. And yeah, Congrats

in price point infuse wins the contest comparing to S2 price .

I have unlocked more than 25pcs of infuse , it takes like max 40 seconds . just put it into debugging mode and open a file on windows . this is damn easy comparing to the previous captivate and vibrant .

Ok so now i am all geared up to get an Infuse but for my brother. I have started checking the ebay auctions and New ones are touching 300$. I was expecting something like 275$ or so.

What is the maximum worth paying for the Infuse New ?? Mint ?? Used ??

I have started watching the auctions but the ones that i am seeing now are going for high price IMO.

If interested..check the following

Ebay prices are high because Ebay fees in the US are very high. For example a phone that goes for $270 on ebay will net the seller around $235 and then there's shipping costs too.

BNIB Infuse are going for $275 and used but like new for around $240 at XDA.

Ok so you suggest that XDA is a better bang for buck bet ??

How does one pay the seller in XDA ??
